HCB's Journal, 30 January 2013

Ok, so I have been thinking for a while what I can do to celebrate losing weight - coming up on 75 pounds lost in a few more weeks.

I think I want a teeny, tiny nose stud...SO, I got a fake one to try it out. Take a look and give me your honest opinion whether I should go for the real deal - which will be smaller!

[color=indigo][b]Still grateful for:

- The people I love who love me back!
- The good health of my loved ones
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today

Do YOU like it? That's all that matters!! I think its a great idea to celebrate the loss - it's always difficult for me to find non food rewards. I bought a 50% off massage to reward myself after my 1/2 marathon. If you like it, go for it!!!

I say go for it! I agree with Melikaff, though, that you could go with an even smaller stud. Either side works :)

Your dedication is really inspiring. I think the nose stud is a great way to commemerate this accomplishment. Everytime you look in the mirror you will be reminded of how far you have come.

75lbs is so worth celebrating with a diamond! If you love it do it! I agree with FOL too!

WOW - great feedback. If I do it, I am planning on a smaller stud - the photos are not totally accurate - even the fake one is smaller than it appears...I have NOT yet reached 75 pounds lost but KNOW I will lose it eventually because I will not give up the battle!

I have to be honest with you guys...I'm not a fan of tattoos or body piercings (not counting earlobes), and this goes for either gender. I guess I'm just old-fashioned that way. Having said that, HCB, it is most assuredly your right to celebrate in any way you see fit, and I wholeheartedly support that right. :-) "Teeny, tiny" would certainly be very discreet, and, in my opinion, a better choice than a large, flashy diamond or ruby. ;-)

You probably don't want my opinion but you asked...., i just think they are creapy gross. BUT, you deserve to celebrate, and you stand up for yourself, if you want it go for it.

75 lbs is great. I don't think you need our opinion on the stud, you just go ahead and do it if it motivates you.

So what'd you decide? When I lost 100, I bought myself a gym membership and a personal trainer to jumpstart the next 100. Of course I've not gotten to my goal yet but when I do, I came up with a reward I wanted (troll beads) that I would continue to buy for every year I keep the weight off. That was Tracy's (Triaby's) idea and I love it. Now I just have to get there. Will the reward help you to remember your accomplishments? Then I say go for it.
