OK, I know it is still January 29th but it is the first day of my February Challenge. And I am angry with myself. I have not been meeting my goals and this has got to stop. I have reached the point where little cheats here and there can no longer be tolerated.

My game plan for losing 7 pounds in February:
> 1350 cals, >30 net carbs
No exceptions, no excuses.

Diet Calendar Entry for 29 January 2013:
1182 kcal Fat: 76.45g | Prot: 79.23g | Carb: 40.99g.   Breakfast: egg, brewed coffee, unsweetened almond milk , heavy whipping cream. Lunch: Blue Cheese Yogurt, red pepper, Dole Salad, hard boiled egg, chicken breast, green pepper. Dinner: spinach, sweet potato, ground turkey, butter, cauliflower, cucumber, onion, dole salad, Yogurt ranch. Snacks/Other: unsweetened almond milk , brewed coffee, heavy whipping cream. more...

Good for you, Buffy! I realized too that I was not really logging everything, & even though much of what I wouldn't bother was "healthy", i.e. veggies I add to my soup or salad, a few grapes, etc., as we all well know, they can add up too. So, I'm with you on the no exceptions, no excuses! xoxox

I know what you mean. I have been doing Atkins. I have not been watching portions. Just because it has low or no carbs doesn't mean it has low or no calories. Calories add up no matter how many carbs. Through the lips and on the hips!

You can do it! I've been struggling too but I'm hoping that a challenge will help keep me more accountable.

Come on Buffy you can do this!! I received my summer shorts yesterday...let's just say I wouldn't been seen out dead in them....so some serious committment needs to be done before the sunshine comes!!

It's a good game plan Buffy and you can do it. Just remember if you eat it, you have to log it. That usually stops me from eating something I shouldn't....knowing people can see me cheating! :)

Sophie - I hated to admit that I would ever need to do the "counting calories and measuring portion sizes" method, but here I am! And it seems I am not alone. No one said it would be easy - or if they did they lied!

Tracy - I don't even want to think about shorts! On America's Funniest Home Videos they had an overweight woman who looked like she had baby faces formed from the wrinkles of fat on her knees. I looked at mine afterward and I think I can see baby faces too!

Buffy, you will lose that 7 lbs in February cause you will measure out your portions and weigh the servings. I have been doing it for a whole week now and look what happened for me? Who knew? I did count out 19 nuts. It looked pitiful but I snatched them away and skulked in the corner and I et them. LMAO!

Mom - I still think you have more confidence in me that I do in myself. BTW - 19 nuts is pitiful but I know we can teach ourselves that this is "a portion". Old dogs can learn new tricks - right?

Oh, do I hear you, everything is true for me too. I know I have come a long way from where I was to where I am, BUT, there is just this "itsy-bitsy" lil problem of portion control. counting out 19 nuts is exactly what we need to do...GOOD JOB M2B!
