I don't believe what I am about to say here today. I am going to completely disregard this morning's weigh in!
My face looks thinner, I feel lighter, my rings are spinning freely on on fingers and my jeans are comfortable. Isn't this what I should want from my diet? Why should I give a rat's ass what the scale reads?
Of course I'll do a reality check tomorrow, re-weighing and comparing with the electronic (Wii) scales. But for today, I'm content to remain blissfully disconnected from the scale.

HCB - I don't think anyone on here hates the scale as much as you do!

Sandy - Sounds like you've been there before! Unfortunately our challenge progress is measure in numbers, not feelings.

I agree, Buffy....my scale said I weighed the same as well, but the rings are spinning on my fingers and the waistbands feel looser, so I am going with that. It will show eventually! Have a great weekend, and gratz on doing so well!

Good for you, Buffy! You are so on track! I don't know why we can let that damn number do a number on our heads! I think I may have mentioned that I have a friend who recently started working as a health coach, & has been helping me with my experiment as I test the effects of sugar, dairy & wheat on my well being, allergies, acid reflux etc. She has convinced me to only weigh in once/week -- I had been weighing every day obsessively. It has been quite a relief in many ways, because for me if I saw I'd lost weight, I'd rationalize overeating & if my weight was up, I'd obsess about it. Of course, the only way I'd agree to it was with the stipulation that if my weight was up, I could weigh again the next day to see if it was a fluke/due to water retention/etc. I'm eager to see how this experimentation goes as well!

Ruth - You are so right. The scale is only one small measure of our overall progress and it is not wise to obsess over it. Wishing you continued success in your "experiment".
