Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 23 January 2013

I found new muscles! I knew I was in trouble when I did enough squats yesterday to make me walk funny. I think I lost all leg control at a certain point. As an added bonus I took hubby's truck to work because my vehicle wasn't handling the snow and ice well. If you ever want to test if you've fatigued your leg muscles try getting into a 2.5 ton truck. Wasn't happening. I finally pulled myself in using the seatbelt and the steering wheel. I'm 5 foot 1.. its hard getting in the truck when I do have leg control!

Now as long as I can avoid stairs and the floor I won’t get stuck anywhere. I tried doing crunches again this morning and ended up looking like a turtle stuck on its back. Couldn't sit up.. couldn't stand. After much cussing and wiggling I made it back to my feet. I think my body is staging a rebellion at this point. So? What do you do when you've worked out enough to put yourself in pain and you can no longer move half of your body?

You workout more! And add exercises! lol I'm adding the side planks and splitting the total between regular planks and side planks. I tried one and lasted 10 seconds before I fell over. I think 500 is a big enough challenge. Plus.. the regular plank is just too tempting for the family. I either have someone touching my butt, attempting to crawl under me, or stealing my stopwatch. As for burpees? The house would shake apart, things will jiggle, and pictures will be taken. I will try that one later.  I wonder.. I can’t do a jumping jack anymore after having kids. Can I do a burpee?

crunches: 300/5000
60 second planks: 3/500
push-ups: 5/5000
reverse crunches: 60/50000
squats: 205/5000
60 second side planks: 0/500

Nice job hun! You really need to send me some of that motivation! I had no time to bring anything for lunch so guess it's back to Wegman's lol! At least I am hoping to get to the gym after work. Stay away from BK!!

After a while your body will get used to the exercises and you won't be as sore, but once those exercises are too easy, then you'll have to change it up. I think you can do a burpee. I was watching the Biggest Loser and they start out not jumping for the burpees but stepping back and up, so if it's too hard to jump back and up don't until you are comfortable with it. I tried an exercise at my home computer the other day off a video, luckily no one was home because I was jumping and it sounded like the floor was going to cave, I think the dogs were worried. :)

you're only 5'1"? I bet climbing into a truck is tough! A guy friend had a big ol' diesel "compensator" without runningboards. I had trouble getting my leg up that high at 5'11"

What I want to know is how do you drive the truck once you get in there? BTW - Great job on the exercise. When one part of your body is sore - just work out a different part.

BK Sounds good.. they put bacon on their salads! As for the truck the seat has to be adjusted all the way up for me to touch the pedals. lol It drives hubby insane that he can't get in any vehicle after me. At least I don't need a telephone book.
