Good Sunday Morning!

Yesterday was a lovely day. We had our juice in the morning and went to our "new" favorite place for lunch, Spuds. I had a bowl of Italian Potato Soup, a roll, and a few bites of DH's Chicken Caesar Salad. There food is so, so good!!! It's the same place where we had hoped to attend the cooking class but it was full. I was going to stop by on Friday but my day was so busy I decided to wait until Saturday. They filled up the last slots just an hour before we arrived. Bummer. They took my name and number in case someone cancels. I KNEW I should have gone on Friday. Darn.

After eating out we drove up north to the Casino. A beautiful sunny (but cold) day with blue skies so a lovely drive. We spent quite a bit of time there and ended up leaving with slightly more money than we arrived with!! A successful day of entertainment!! Talked to our daughter on the drive back south. She had a rough day at work and is still working on learning how to be "responsible" and not react like the 'old' Erin. Sometimes I feel like I am talking to a 15 year old teenager instead of a 32, almost 33 year old woman. Patience Carol, patience.

Unbeknownst to me DH was hungry again (it had been at least 6 or 7 hours since we had eaten) and we stopped by a local restaurant for dinner. He had a hamburger with onion rings ... me? ... a lovely spinach salad. He did share a bit of the burger with me and I had one bite from an onion ring but that was it.

The scale? It said 211 this morning. That is down from the high of 212.6 I had after the snack attack (evil ice-cream that was lurking in the freezer) earlier last week. So good I guess but not were I was at 209.2. I'm doing pretty good with not letting that throw me off course or beating myself up about it. I'm still down 20 lbs from Thanksgiving, hopefully by the end of this week I'll be back at 209 or lower. I'm resisting logging it here, even if fatsecret is telling me it is time to weigh in!!! I have weighed in!!! I just haven't entered it!!! LOL!!!

Today is laundry day. We may or may not go to town. We do have a few errands to do that we didn't get to yesterday because we decided to play. We also still have tomorrow off together so we shall see what we feel like doing. Love having this kind of time.

Oh the house was soooo cold when we got home late last night. We stayed up and watched Shrink (DVD) on the TV and tried to warm up the house but it was still in the mid 50's when we went to bed. I woke up around 3 am with my nose freezing cold. It was cold enough that the dog insisted on being on the bed next to me which is nice for the warmth but if I move an inch he jumps off and jumps back up which isn't great for sleep. At 3 am I decided enough of this and trudged downstairs, blanket in tow, to get the fire roaring come hell or high water!!! When I got it back into the 60's I fell asleep on the couch (a fainting couch so not really good for this 5'10" body to sleep on) and woke up a bit later all cramped up!! LOL!!! Threw some more wood on the fire and went back to bed. I'm happy to report it is a balmy 64.9 degrees in the house now! One of the draw backs of wood heat. In the winter if no one is home the house gets COLD!!!

DH made our juice this morning, our fav, grapefruit-orange!! Nice for me to have a break from juicing!!

Grateful today for ...

A lovely day out and about with DH!
Fresh juice delivered to me this morning!
Being more "sane" about my weight (by the way DH was down to 194.2 yesterday ... started at 216!!! ... go DH!!!)
Fresh coffee with cinnamon!!!
Great conversations with DH yesterday.
Being able to remember that I am always in the palm of HIS hand.

I know not many of you are around on the weekend but I'll check to see!!! Sometimes Isabel surprises me!!!

Take care!

Hi Carol, So happy you and your hubby are sharing quality time together. Your trip up North sounds great. The fact you are no longer stressing if the scales dont comply is a milestone for you, So well done, less stress will make you feel happier. MMmmm, wonder where you and your husband will venture tomorrow, bet you will have a nice time. Sazy xx

Wow ... those house temps seem pretty cool. I remember waking up last week and our home was 66 degrees and it felt like below zero. Everything is relative, I guess? It finally warmed up here ..... did some grilling with the patio door open. I'm impressed with your weight loss ... and your hubby's too. I still don't see juicing in my future but it's been interesting to view your progress. I relate a little to your "daughter situation". My daughter is stressing out over her wedding and the plans surrounding it. She is extremely picky and detail orientated. We just had a discussion about one of her showers that we are hosting. We thought we would host the shower in our home (what were thinking?) .... no, it has to be downtown ... it has to have a certain menu, it has to be in a certain building in a certain room. Flexibility is not her strong suit. Hopefully we won't put her up for "adoption" before the wedding. Have a nice weekend buddy!

Oh Glen ... how do we survive?! LOL!!! Yes, the temps are relative. My toes are still chilly but I was just in the mud room/apartment where we don't have a fire burning currently!! I would have never chosen the juicing had it not been for my husband. Surprisingly I find that I like it!! But today ... there is a pot of chicken soup in my future. Just need to make it!!

So sorry about how cold it is. Glad you have each other to keep warm. So cool about both of your weightloss and both of your time together. And terrific that you both take turn s juicing. It's such a process isn't it? Hope the rest of your weekend is amazing. Hugs to you and your DH for making you so happy.

Sounds like a lovely weekend! So glad that you were able to get out and have a bit of fun with your DH. I can't imagine having to get up in the middle of the night to stoke the fire to stay are amazing. In our house, it would be hubby doing it, not me! lol Have a wonderful week, my awesome, beautiful friend! Love you!

Good Afternoon Carol!! I love your journals too and I am happy you had some fun this weekend and I don't think I could ever get up in the middle of the night to stoke a fire either. You are a wonder woman!!
