DAY 8...

and I think I am a bit better today. At least the sore throat is gone, and with the new medicine, I was able to breath through my nose last night and got a better night's rest...not perfect, but better. I shudder to think how many carbs that cold and flu liquid has in it, but at this point, I really need the rest and couldn't find a SF night time medicine. I'll deal with any fall out after I feel better. The scale today is the same. Not losing, but not gaining, which is good, as it has been my experience in the past, that when I take lots of medicine, my weight can go up! Everyone that I know who have had this flu is telling me anywhere from 14-21 days. I am counting on 14, so that means I am halfway through the crud and should be on the down hill side now.

I really want to thank all of you for your thoughts and concern. It means a lot. I also want to apologize for not being able to visit all your journals. I have been trying to read to stay caught up, but just haven't had the energy to comment. I am going to try today.

It would appear that the fence repair worked, as crazy dog, Toby, hasn't been able to find a way out today. Not that he hasn't looked. I watched him this morning, and he went back to where the downed fence had been, looked at it, paced up and down (mind you, he stayed far enough away that the invisible fence didn't get him), stopped at the spot again, stared, and then moved up and down the fence line looking for another spot. He is really smart, but for some reason can't figure out we want him to stay in the 3 acres that is ours. We also have to chain the gate top and bottom, as he will push the gate open and slink through. Caught him a while back climbing the gate, getting shocked by the electric fence collar. Why, you may ask? Because I was on the other side of the gate, and he wanted to get to me. I saved him and he loves me! :)

Well, that's about all the news that's fit to print from my corner...hope all is well in your's!

TTFN!

Awww soo glad your feeling better sweetie..I have heard that flu is really hard this time...Yes you have a very smart doggie..you can almost see the cogs going in a smart one..they reason things out and try ....My DH had a dog like that..he would even try to help him unload wood from the truck..His name was Smiley..cause he looked like he was smiling all the time..he used to belong to DH's granddad but when they moved just across the hill from them..Smiley moved too..he even took his dog bowl..He told him the day I was to meet him that I was a good person and that he would like me..and sure enough when he met me..he just sniffed my hand and then smiled at me..DH said I was Ok in his book..sure missed him when he was gone..thats been over 30 years ago...Have a great evening...:O)

Our chocolate lab, Lucky, used to smile ALL the time, while hopping up and down. It was so darned cute. This guy is part lab, and he smiles as well! They are so smart, and just warm my heart. Thanks for sharing the story of Smiley...he sounds like an awesome friend! HUGS!

Very glad you are starting to feel better!! It's crazy how nasty the flu bug was this year.. Good job fixing that fence - give Toby a little snuggle from me! :) My big beast of a lab is asleep on the living room floor, snoring. :)

Hi. I'm glad you are feeling a little bit better. Hopefully you are on the mend and will be 100% tomorrow. I am enjoying my kettlebell routines and hope you will be well enough to get to use your new ones. Take care and have a great evening!

Delighted to hear you are feeling better! I wouldn't worry a bit about the scale. All will fall back into place when you are mended. Thanks for your comment tonight on my journal. I o think the window view is going to be much improved!

Make sure you take it easy for a while, so many people over do it as soon as they feel a bit better and then relapse. I have a lttile escape artist too, I have these mini bungy cords on both gates as she figured out how to open them, I put chicken wire over any little gap in the fence as she can fit through the tiniest space and my all time favorite, she figured out how to open the screen door on the patio doors and let herself out. She hasn't learn how to close it yet though.

Erika, I have not been this sick in YEARS!!! I am so glad I haven't been sick as long as some of my friends. One of them was down for 21 days...couldn't even fly back home after the holidays, as he was just too sick. I gave Toby a snuggle for you! He liked it! lol

Carol, I am so glad that it is finally on it's way out! This is a nasty, nasty bug. As for the scale...nope, not going to worry about it one little bit. After this is a journey, not a destination, right? HUGS!!
