Another day...another day stuck on the same number on the "Idiot Box."

I just completed another day of intermittent fasting from dinner Wednesday to dinner Thursday. It seems to feel good to allow myself to actually just eat when truly hungry instead of just eating because it is mealtime.

I think the only way the "Idiot Box" is going to move down is by changing up my exercise - and I am not super motivated in that area right now!

And,we are hitting some Minnesota sub-zero weather this coming weekend.

Maybe my body is holding on to fat to stay warm?

Still grateful for:

- The people I love who love me back!
- The good health of my loved ones
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today

I think there's something to the thought that our bodies hold on to some extra weight in the winter. I always seem to be about 5 lbs up over the winter months. But, in my case, it could be because of the holidays, eating heavier winter foods and/or getting less outdoor exercise. Don't fret my friend... spring will be here before we know it!

I seem to find it harder to lose in the winter as well. Not sure, but I think that perhaps it is in our genes...fat to keep us warm! Have a great evening!

Sub zero weather sounds like the time to get out those Jillian DVDs and butt kick yourself to stay warm! I have found that I get colder now after loosing the extra weight I was carrying around. :) I can't bring myself to replace my coats yet for smaller ones so the bigger ones are ok for this winter.

Perhaps do small evercises and use your hapy lamp. That may give you some motivation. Or treat yourself to a new DVD. I di noot know if you public libraries have exercise DVDs but it could be something to get you through the cold and darkeness. Good luck, don't give up on the snarly nasty idiot box.. It will be forced to read a lower number I a few.. I have faith in you that the smaller numbers are just out of reach!! :D

Sorry to hear that the old idiot box is still living up to its name. I think the intermittent fasting is a good tool and hope it helps you break out of this stalemate. I don't know what effect cold weather has on our bodies but I'm sure it can't be helpful to our weight loss efforts. The winter months have long been notorious for the time we pack on the pounds. But that doesn't mean we can't work to change that cycle. Good luck and stay warm :)

I hear you HCB! I am trying to find some low cal, low carb snacks and it's killing me. It is definitely harder to exercise in the winter. It may actually be easier at home, because I know to get psyched up to leave the house when it's cold outside is difficult.

It really is hard to exercise when it is so cold out. Keep doing what you know to do and the "idiot box" will move soon enough.
