Let's just say those lower carb chocolate chip cookie bars are absolutely DIVINE.......but dangerous! LOL! DH says he can taste the artificial sweeteners/sugar alcohols, but I can't. I'd say they're every bit as good as the "real" ones with white flour, sugar, and regular chocolate chips. These are so yummy, it's a real test for portion control.....a test, I can say I failed....with great success.

OK....now if I can just forget there's a big stash of them in the freezer!

Yesterday's walk was the last one in shorts, at least for awhile. That big weather front finally got its act together and meandered its way over us, so our high today is 20-25 degrees colder than yesterday.

This morning, I had planned on doing an elliptical routine at the gym, after taking some clothes to the consignment place and also picking up a few grocery items at the store. In the midst of schlepping everything to the car, I managed to leave my gym bag at home! So there I was, after leaving the grocery store and heading to the gym, all of a sudden realizing I had no gym bag.....no exercise apparel, no fanny pack with music player. I had my water, a small snack, etc., but not the other stuff. I laughed and just came home and went on the Stairmaster instead.

I planned on doing the routine tomorrow, because I have more to consign and there's a daily limit, but there was a message waiting for me that a large item for DH's car is being delivered tomorrow and I need to be here to sign for it. So, maybe some XBox at home tomorrow.

I'm getting lazy with my eating and procrastinating on getting rid of the holiday pounds. I thought my clothes were still fitting fine, but when I put on my shorts in the warmer weather, they felt a bit snug. I'm also feeling the extra pounds. This is all quite depressing, BUT I tell myself this is a GOOD thing to be more aware, so I can DO something about it.

Maybe I'm just bored with this WOE....bored with the foods. That's not a fault of the program....just a fault of me being unimaginative. I'm giving some thought to changing up some things....not sure exactly how....or what....but need to figure out something that can get me EXCITED.....or at least something I can look forward to doing or experimenting with.

I do understand the boredom - something about human nature wanting what it can't (or should not) have. But, on a different note - thanks for the cookie recipe review. And maybe that package will arrive early tomorrow so you'll still have time to get out and get things done.

Sandy, hubby and I just had that conversation about the foods last week. It just gets old eating the same old stuff. We are going to try a "Meatza" as soon as I am better and able to taste. At this point I could eat cardboard and it wouldn't matter. I need to get that cookie recipe from you, but I suspect I should wait a while to make them...chocolate chip cookies are my downfall! LOL Have a great evening!

Buffy, those cookies are EXCELLENT, but I'd say they're lowER carb and they still have significant calories. Portion control is a "must."

Bren, you've got it worse than me....I'm amazed that you do so well with your restrictions! Hope the package comes early too, but I'm waiting on a contractor for awhile anyway. If everyone/everything gets handled by noon, I'll be one happy camper and have the afternoon to myself.

Stef, I got the recipe from GG-Girl. But it appears that it's pretty much the recipe that's on the Splenda brown sugar blend bag....just with substitutions like almond flour instead of white flour.....sugar-free chocolate chips instead of the regular ones, etc. Otherwise, the amounts look about the same. SUPER tasty but VERY tempting!!!
