Life can be so hectic, and sometimes I feel out of control, and when I let my eating just go crazy I feel even worse! These last few I've been eating whatever and this morning I finally feel like I have control back...which seems so odd to me. I mean it's my choice what I eat or don't eat. I don't understand why it can be so hard somedays and so easy others. All I know is I have to be more disaplined. I need to start recording my food better.

Yep. Of all of the things in life we can't control, the one thing we (can) is how and what we consume. Good job on regaining the control!

I know what you mean, some days being 'in control' seems to come so much more naturally than others, for no good reason! Always recording your food is definitely a good way to keep up the control for days when your willpower isn't coming naturally to you - it externalises the task and turns it into a habit rather than a conscious choice!

I use so many excuses to overeat it’s not even funny. It could be something like, I had a bad day I need a cookie, to there are 4 servings of pretzels left… better eat them before they go bad! Recording ALL of your food intake is crucial and don’t forget the liquids! It might be embarrassing, (I ate more than twice my RDI on Jan 11th?!?) but who cares? You are doing this for yourself. But remember you are not alone, you have your FatSecret buddies to help you. :) You can gain control, you don’t need luck; you just need to believe in yourself. :)

Keep the protein high and try to avoid processed foods. It will help kill the cravings. I also try to have some stuff pre-made for when I am famished. (Or so my belly tries to say so)

Some days I record what I plan to eat the night before or that morning and then all I have to do is follow the plan. Hard to do some days but the decisions are already made this way.
