Dicesr's Journal, 15 January 2013

I was reading this month's Endocrine journal because it has an article specifically on visceral fat. We've long known that liposuction does nothing to improve your lipid panel. Triglycerides, LDL/HDL cholesterol, liver and pancreatic function, it doesn't do a thing. What's fascinating is that they have new'ish surgical techniques to remove visceral fat, and they're really collating the effects on health for the first time. The findings? Surgical removal of visceral fat _also_ doesn't do anything for your health. This suggests that visceral fat in your abdomen is a symptom, not a major contributing factor of your unhealth. As is often the case, there is no magic bullet, being healthy is about the journey.
