Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 11 January 2013

I'm KISSing myself. No not.. making out with my hand or something strange like that. Now I've got myself wondering what I could kiss. I think I just figured out I'm not the most flexible person in the world. Maybe I should try yoga or something.

Anyways..... We had a saying at my old job. Keep It Simple Stupid. We would kiss any book we sent out the door in hopes that someone somewhere wouldn't screw something up. Like the guy that thought cruise control was the same as an autopilot. I'm the jackwagon that needs to be kept from my own stupidity.

Today I will record all my horrible choices. I need to stay accountable. When I slide off into the great sugary beyond I hide it. This weekend I will start from scratch. I will record. I will make decent choices. I will not eyeball 8 yr olds cookie dough pop tarts. I've eaten most of them by now anyways and they should be gone soon. Instead of going from 0-90 I will go from 0-10.. then 20.. then 30. I will not burn out then slip a gear, stall, and be the jackwagon sitting in the middle of the intersection with everyone watching me while I hide under my dashboard.

8 yr old is into infomercials right now. She wants some workout video she saw on tv the other night. I'm not sure if it was zumba or taebo or jazzercise. The moves she was showing me to try to get me to figure out what it was weren't all that helpful. Maybe it was a tv show of someone having a suizure. I've been playing around looking for body building guides to build muscle using only your own body so maybe I will look for something fun to add to the workouts that we can both do. I have images of us using resistance bands and smacking each other. This could turn into the jumping jack challenge incident. Or.. it could be a good bonding thing that will teach her a good life lesson. Or.. it will turn into us trying to push each other over while we try to balance doing something.

Any video suggestions?

Best of luck with your re-start. As for videos - do you guys have any of the "Just Dance" ones? I know some Mothers and Daughters who enjoy doing them together.

I've been thinking about finding the same thing so I can do it anywhere without equipment for non gym times. If you find anything good please share! Good to see you are joining my slow and steady approach :-) Ry and I have agreed to play Just Dance on the connect more. Hey it's something, it's moving and we can do it togeher!

Anyone ever seen Jillian Michaels: Shred-It With Weights? Walmart is having 40% off. It can be used with Kettle balls. Kettle balls look like fun. 8 yr old + kettle ball.. hmmm.. maybe. maybe we need a new tv... maybe this is one for just me. Also, Kim Kardashian has a fit in your jeans in 30 days workout video. Has she seen her butt? Just sayin.

Ok.. why does the Jillian have a must be 18 yrs old to purchase button? Is there cursing, farting or butt crack peakage? Ok.. probably by me if I try this. Maybe that's why.

I have Jillians ripped in 30 and level one kicks my ass... maybe it's time to get it back out. I got it because it was only 8.00 and figured why not. If you want to dance Billy Blanks JR (Not Sr as in BootCamp) has some DVDs. I can give you a copy. Saw him on Shark Tank (He didn't get a deal though lol) so hubby got the DVD at the library and burned it for me. It's pretty simple until the bollywood get fast! It has 4 routines in different styles and each is about 15 min. I think you 2 would have fun. When I do it Maddie tries, it's cute but distracting. Time to get that out too. I think anything fitness related is 18+, and she is kinda rude lol.

bodybuilding.com is free and when you look through their exercises you can set the search up for no weights. Its awesome! It even has videos or pictures to show you how to do virtually anything.

just click workouts at the top of the page and scroll down. They let you even pick by the muscle group you want to use.

I have Jillian Michaels "Ripped in 30" and "30 Day Shred". Both are Kick your ass workouts. I think any of the Jillian workouts would be effective. You just have to do it. They are usually only 30 minutes too. That was a huge selling point for me. i don't have time for the hour long videos usually...
