Sandy701's Journal, 10 January 2013

Cloudy, warm, humid day with a fine mist from time to time. Although it's hard to know exactly how to dress for this weather, shorts and a lighter sweatshirt did just fine on my 3.1-mile walk this AM; both doggies and DH along, as DH is off today.

I found a new product at Wally World yesterday....frozen Atkins entrees. I picked up 2 just to see how they are. They look like meat, broccoli, and a sauce. Nothing fancy, but might be good to have 1 or 2 on hand, if they're good. They also have a breakfast scramble, but I felt we could do variations of egg scrambles pretty well on our own.

Today's agenda includes a deep cleaning of the master bedroom. With 2 large, inside doggies, there's a lot of cleaning that just needs to get done more often than in most non-doggy households. If you have dogs, you know what I mean! DH got replacement blinds put up over the weekend, so we're doing well on preparing that room in case we need to move this summer.

At this point in his career, we just don't know if there will be a move this summer, or not. We're thinking not, but we're doing some light preparations just in case. If he receives no orders by the end of May, we should be OK to stay. And, if that's the case, he "should" be able to finish out his full career right here.

Knowing how stress - like moving - affects weight loss, I know that it's important for me to stay focused and think about ways to handle the stresses that might be coming along later this spring. If I look back over my adult history, it's almost a perfect correlation......move=weight gain, family issues=weight gain and on the other hand, the times when I've lost weight have been among the most steady, peaceful times in my life.

I'm not a fan of cooking either, Bren. For me, I'd just rather cook up large amounts of food at one time and then not have to cook for several days.....just pop things in the microwave to heat them up. Have a good evening... :)

Hello Sandy! Thank you for telling me about the Atkins products - maybe I could interest DH in trying them (instead of Subway) when he is out of town. And I could throw some in the freezer here at work for emergencies - certainly no chance anyone here would eat them on me - LOL. So you ae still living with the uncertainty of not knowing when/if you'll be moving again? I think the uncertainty is worse than the moving. Deep, deep breaths!

Buffy, Healthy Choice used to make some Atkins-friendly frozen entrees several years back and I used them exactly how you're thinking of your DH using them. Sadly, they stopped making those varieties. If you've got a microwave at work, these would be perfect emergency food for you! The uncertainty of moving IS worse than moving, although moving is no picnic! LOL! DH will get some indication of our chances, maybe in late March, but it's nothing you can bank on.....can't put the house up for sale, can't go find a new one, etc. I'll be doing a LOT of deep breathing!
