New day, new energies! I'm trying to focus on the improvements each day and not how bad I still feel! I've been making it through each work day and by around 7:00PM I'm more than ready to go to bed! But I've been making it till 9:00PM. Hopefully each day I will get stronger and stronger. My hubby finally went back to work today, so I think that our household will slowly begin to resume normal function. My son is going with a friend to the "Busch Gardens" amusement park in Tampa this weekend. It's his friend's birthday and his parents told him he could bring one friend to this amusement park for the weekend, and my son was the lucky friend. I just hope he does NOT come down with this nasty flu virus while he's with these people this weekend. My gym closed down at the end of the year. :( When I was there for my last workout before I got sick, there was a sign on the door that said they were closing down as of the end of the year, and that another local gym would honor our memberships for 3 months at no cost to us. Ho Hum. Now I have to decide if I want to go and get signed up with this other gym. I have a treadmill at home, and I have a dog that LOVES to go out walking but there is something about actually going to the gym and accomplishing my workout that gives me a sense of satisfaction. I will have to decide what to do pretty soon.

I Hear ya! I have a pretty good elliptical at home but I get SO MUCH MORE done at the gym. The atmosphere, no thoughts about what else I should be doing like cleaning, etc. 3 months for free? Check it out, can't hurt. That's a good amount of time to assess the place.

I've got an elliptical, a treadmill, a recumbent bike and a bunch of hand weights at home in addition to a library of exercise dvd's. But I was never very successful at sticking with any of those things for very long. Getting out to the gym is a destination - something I have to do. Having the equipment at home is almost too easy - makes me feel like I can do it any old time so there's no urgency, no time slot set. I guess it is an individual thing - everyone approaches these things differently and not everyone wants the same thing from their exercise regime. If the 3 months at the gym is free with no commitment, I say give it a shot. What do you have to lose?

I'd give the new gym a shot, especially for free. There's something about paying hard earned cash the keeps me going. At home the couch sucks me in most every time. Glad to hear everyday is a little better than the day before.

It's no fun being sick, and I hope you and your husband are both feeling healthy soon. Hummmm ... a new gym. I have been fortunate that I've not had to change gyms very often. The last time I changed gyms (a couple of years ago) it was the same company and the gym lay out was a carbon copy of the old gym, so it didn't feel new at all, just closer. I would encourage you to stay connected to a gym .... it's provides an atmosphere that many of us don't have when we are not there. Hang in there buddy.
