Day 4 of 5-day cleanse. I've been feeling good (most of the time) & sleeping so well that I haven't had time in the wee hours of the morning when I usually journal. Hope all my FS friends are doing well & to re-connect today!

I need to vent/share though too a bit today --

I've been thinking about, obsessing, reading, researching & just spending a lot of time on my weight, diet, etc. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, I feel I also need to put it in better perspective for me. What's been on my mind --

The cleanse is going well, but no weight loss so far (haven't logged it yet, but was up to 124 after the weekend & will post whatever the scale shows tomo), which is re-fueling my fire about if I should increase my goal weight. I don't want to give in & hate the idea of saying goodbye to being 120 lbs forever, but can't help but wonder if what has begun to feel like I'm fighting a losing (but not literally!) battle... guess that makes it fighting a gaining battle! And, it seems the more concerned I get about that #, the farther it gets from my goal.

Sugar! Still trying to figure that one out & letting it drive me crazy! I am feeling so much better on this raw food cleanse, & have had no sugar cravings, but know I couldn't do this forever. So, what is the best diet plan? The more I read, the more confused I become! I just know that when I start eating on my own again on Sat, I don't want to re-introduce foods that will start the sugar cravings again. Any suggestions? Will also talk to the owners of the Raw Food Restaurant where I've been getting the cleanse to see what they suggest.

So, that's where I'm at my wonderful FS friends. Thanks for being here again, as always, & allowing me to vent/share honestly in a way I can't do anywhere else! xoxox

Isn't it crazy that something that should come so naturally to us (eating) should take up so much of our time? Sugar is such a hard one because manufacturer's put it in EVERYTHING. And we get used to all our food tasting sweet. I just try to avoid processed food. After a while I discover that foods I used to think needed sugar, like winter squash, taste perfectly fine without it!

How are your clothes fitting? Muscle is denser then fat so if you are gaining muscle that could be why you are having a hard time hitting 120.

I tend to "obsessing, reading, researching & just spending a lot of time on my weight, diet" too!! I feel it keeps the good thinking in the front of my brain to block out the bad thinking. I do love to read recipies and cook books, but now I blend that in w/healthy foods and think how to change them up. Keep reading, it's good for you!

Hey Ruth...everyone is different, and I can only tell you what works for me and that is Low Carb, High Fat, and Moderate Protein. I keep the sugars to a minimum. This is what keeps my cravings for starches, breads, sugars, sweets to a minimum and I feel better. Good luck!!

Thanks for the encouragements, my FS friends! What would I do without you all?
