AmazingGrace114's Journal, 07 January 2013

I am having the worst time trying to find quick, low carb, breakfast options. I am TIRED of bacon and eggs but its the only quick thing I've found.

Diet Calendar Entry for 07 January 2013:
880 kcal Fat: 57.43g | Prot: 82.11g | Carb: 4.27g.   Breakfast: eggs, sausage, cheddar cheese. Lunch: ground beef patty, ketchup, mustard, lettuce. more...
on diet Atkins

I had a homemade beef veg soup. I used ground beef I had in the fridge, green onion, celery and red bell pepper and green beans. It was pretty good since its cold out. My mom has this same problem about the eggs and she gets tired of them and I tell her, you can have "lunch" for breakfast. I also make the MIM, and that is AHHMAZING

I really like to use the MIM's (Muffins in a minute) for breakfast alternatives. They're very filling and only 5 carbs. I'll post the recipe here for you. Serves: 1 Ingredients - 1/4 cup flax seed meal 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon stevia powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 egg 1 teaspoon oil Directions: 1 Mix all ingredients in a large coffee mug or small glass bowl. 2 Micorowave for one minute on high. 3 If using frozen berries as an add, microwave for 1:30 on high. 4 Smooth on some butter and enjoy! It will be moist at first, but as the muffin cools it goes away.

Morningstar farms sausage breakfast patties and links are good. Try a smoothie with silken tofu, Silk Almond Milk, cocoa powder, ice cubes and splenda/sweetener. Don't use too much tofu - about 1/4 cup.

I have been drinking a protein shake for breakfast. 4 oz water, 4 oz soy milk & one scoop vanilla protein powder. It's quite delicious, very quick & can go anywhere. I buy MedRx Protein Powder from Trader Joe's & really like it. My husband has started drinking them now too.

The same old thing can become boring if you eat it too often. I eat whatever, whenever lol. Left-over pork chops for breakfast, bacon and eggs for dinner, etc. All good suggestions above :) but watch out for the flax meal in the MIM's. I love them, don't get me wrong, but even drinking over 100 ounces of water a day, they would not leave my body lolol. Constipation is no fun, I tell ya lol, and of course all that food still inside you will definitely show on the scale. Also, make sure the ingredients you use are allowed on Induction. Protein powder/Whey, fruit and tofu are not.

Eat things that aren't for breakfast. Dinner leftovers, whatever. I have come to realize when I am doing best I eat all kinds of things at funly times. Meatballs for breakfast and eggs for dinner lol!
