ShyGuy's Journal, 07 January 2013

Today is a day for a new beginning; and a day to reclaim my victory in this battle of the bulge. I haven't logged my food intake, regularly, in more than a month; so it's time to get refocused, and rededicated to doing that on a daily basis. As others have said, the damage is done, and I refuse to beat myself up about that. My Pastor taught a lesson, yesterday, that reinforces my attitude about this whole thing, and though he wasn't, specifically, talking about my battle of the bulge, the lesson can certainly be applied to my situation, and your's, if you want it to. In a nutshell, the lesson was this: "Let the past be the past, and enjoy the future God has for you". So, in my case, I'll let the past be the past and walk in the victory, God has already given me, in this battle of the bulge. Have a great week everyone. :-)

Great attitude! And all you have to do is pick up where you left off and enjoy your future. I'll tell you, I got clobbered by the holidays this year (starting with Pre-Thanksgiving meal prep and ending with the after Christmas leftovers)! Not a pretty sight. Lets make a pact that this does not happen next year?

Thanks Buffy and Bren, I'm with you on focusing on today, and on making a pact, to not letting this happen during the holiday season for 2013. I can't believe I'm thinking that far ahead, but as a friend once told me,"If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail". It will take some effort though. I have some great recipes for low carb cheese cake, and an idea on how to make a low carb egg nogg, but I want them to be tried and true, well before the holidays roll around again. Desserts are usually my biggest pitfall, as are occasions in which I eat at relatives houses; but by limiting my exposure to situations like that I know I can be more successful, and not find myself in the same boat, next year. Let's all be blessed, and happy, as we turn things around, and reclaim the victory which is aready ours. :-)
