Good morning, Fatsecretteers!

So, I'm back at my pre-Indulgence Weight. Pretty standard for an Indulgence Day pattern. The next days should (hopefully) how some more weight loss.

Also, I had a pretty large dinner yesterday. Wife made meatless pasta sauce, which we had with whole wheat pasta. Yum!

So, I went to the new gym yesterday. It was really fun, and interesting in more ways.

It is all about circuit training. You can find all about them on www.loopfitness.com - they're apparently all over the world.

For me, this is absolutely perfect, I think. The gym solely focuses on regular people like you and me. No steroid club, in any way.

They keep the heavy duty weight lifters away efficiently, to keep the other clientel interested.

- There are literally NO mirrors.
- There is a "women's only" section. No men allowed.
- There are only warm-up machines and the curcuit training setup.
- There are no weight-lifting section and no heavy weights to lift, other than settings on machines.

This makes the gym a lot less intimidating. I like that.

Now, here is - for me - the REALLY interesting thing:

I talked to the owner. He is very interested in me considering making my weight loss class and do a little cooperation with the gym. This means that he maybe, when they get everything set up (they only just opened two days ago, remember?), can supply me with a little meeting room for my class a few times every week, and that they can push clients my way if I push clients his way!

What an awesome idea!

The night school that I was originally with did not get enough new clients for my class to keep going, sadly. So I have to find new ways of doing it. This could very well be one approach. I like the idea, PLUS I can literally go teach and then exercise right after, along with class mates who'd be interested in that. Keep it going, and keep me motivated. From a more selfish point of view, this is excellent.

So, anyways, back to the training. Here's the idea:

You basically go warm up for 5 minutes. Then after, you have a circle of 16 machines. After a few times, you know how much weight you'll need on the individual machine, so you can quickly set it up. You have 45 seconds to do a machine. This is controlled by a "ding" sound playing every 45 seconds (Boy, am I glad I'm not working there. That'd drive me nut!). When you hear the ding, you go to the next machine, set the weigh and other settings quickly, and go go go! 16 machines are done in 12 minutes. Two rounds is 24 minutes. Supposedly, and if you set the weights heavy enough to be challenged on the last one or two pushed/pulls/lifts, this should be enough to be working. Do this a few times a week, and it's all good. I'm aiming for 3 or 4 days per week, so there is time for recovery inbetween.

In a way, I wanted a resting day today, since I went yesterday. However, they're open early morning at 7 am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so I really want to get into doing that. This means going today, resting tomorrow instead.

This way I could go three mornings on workdays, and then maybe once on the weekend. I'll have it done and out of the way.

Of course, if I start teaching there, then I'll put my training while I'm already there. That makes more sense.

I really do enjoy working out in the mornings though. I like having the feeling of getting up to do something, and I like the feeling of accomplisment I have from it all day. It's a great feeling.

So, yesterday I asked about the recovery drink. I went with JP's suggestion to drink a little chocolate milk. I'm not sure how much it worked, I had good energy all day but I was SO tired at night, and went to bed at 7:45 PM. Of course, keep in mind that both Wife and I woke up at 2 AM, and couldn't sleep any more. I think yesterday was not a good day to evaluate this.

Anyways, I have myself set up to do the same again. I'm still not sure HOW MUCH I am supposed to drink, but I'm going with half the calories that I have burned, according to the Fatsecret calculator. This equals a cup of chocolate milk for me. That's fine.

Today I have a reasonably easy day at work. Let's hope it stays like that according to plan. I'd like an easy day.

I really need to go find out how to make a registered business. If I go teach fee lance, then I need this. :) That will be a mission today.

Today I am thankful for:
- New Gym, and excited about it!
- Morning coffee!
- An AMAZING night's sleep!

Happy Monday! Life is good!

Good job on the gym stuff pal. And the diet class. Sounds like you have a good handle on things. I have never tried that speed cycle stuff, etc, but my stepson and friends are into it.

YEAH, congrads. This must be your first round with weights! I use to work at a gym in my 20s and trained on the Nautilus system. Nautilus One Circuit Training has a video on youtube if you need more info. Most importanly is to let your muscles recover, days off. Push then rest. Your recovery will be rest not food. But a good smoothie is always fun.

What fun for you Kingkeld! We have something like that here called Curves for Women. Same concept with the "ding" warning to change machines. LOL! Good luck with this... it sounds like you are excited about it .. it's new and different and definitely good for you. Proud of you!

I've seen a similar type of gym here and didn't really like the concept, but if it works for you that's fantastic since exercise is basically down to motivation and wanting to do it. If you get your class set up there that will be super cool - like you say, no excuse for not exercising if you're already there, way to go!

Hey Keld, glad you find a way to enjoy working out! The way your gym is organized sounds great! I don't like being surrounded by weight lifters at the gym, they make me fell so flabby and weak... And I am very happy about you having again the opportunity to teach weight loss class again! :)
