David Ackerman's Journal, 05 January 2013

Feeling great this morning. In a few days, I've lost 7lbs worth of junk that has been in my body (probably also with some water weight). Haven't been exercising yet, but I am focusing on one thing at a time.

I am going by the Paleo diet, trying to eat good fats and protein, keeping carbs as low as possible. Yesterday I bought a ton of various types of lettuce and vegetables, and sliced up a spaghetti squash. I also read up on the Archivore Diet, as he explains why certain foods are beneficial, and why some are harmful.

I am sure my motivation will dwindle after a few weeks, but I hope I can remember to keep it simple and not stress about a gram of carbs here or there... it's average performance day-to-day that is going to determine my success!

Oh did I mention I have a wedding in 6 months? If that isn't reason for motivation, I don't know what is!
