Time to think about New Year's Resolutions. I am a strong believer in them, but they must be carefully thought out. Oh - and best to start small. Using this strategy I have been successful with things like breaking a diet soda addiction and eliminating sweetener from my coffee.

Now for 2013: Anyone familiar with my journal knows I struggle with exercise. A lot of it stems from my job which, at a minimum, involves sitting 8 hours/day. And it is not unusual for me (by working through lunch and staying late) to sit for 10 to 12 hours a day. After sitting for that long I can barely drive myself home, drag through dinner and collapse on the couch. This job is killing me - literally!

The only practical solution I can come up with is to use my one hour lunch break for exercise. So this will be my New Year's Resolution.

Tomorrow I am scheduling a meeting with my boss. From now on I'm insisting that I get my one hour break. No exceptions. End of story.

I have a feeling that 2013 will be a good year!

Hey Buffy..I think that is a great idea...you need the hour for what ever as it is apart of your time off...and it sure breaks up the day..I like the idea of small steps towards your goal...less stressful that way...Enjoy your evening...:O)

Bren - After re-thinking, I'm not sure if my resolution is to exercise or to tell my boss where to "stick it". LOL

Buffy - let your resolution be both, first the boss and then the exercise.

Jozette - You are 100% right! Funny, now that DH has a steady job, I now feel more empowered at my place of work. In other words, I can threaten to quit - and mean it.

Buffy -- so proud of you my friend. Many times I use my lunch hour to get in my workout -- what a terrific resolution :)

Gigi - thanks! Although my "workout" will be limited to walking, it is still a whole lot better than sitting.

Tracy - meeting with boss won't be until tomorrow so will need to hold on to my resolve for one more day.
