K, it's the morning of day five of my week 3 of low carbs. I didn't have much of an appetite this morning. I think it's one of the side effects of ketosis. I am excited to start gradually adding good carbs into my diet. Atkins' induction phase has dieters stay on 20g or less of carbs for two full weeks. I don't think it'd be healthy for me to do induction beyond one week. I want to check out Jorge Cruise's books for a more sustainable approach to low carbs when I get back to the U.S.

Week one: Cut out all sweets and excess snacking.
Week two: Continued to cut out all sweets and excess snacking.
Week three: Limited net carb intake to 20g per day. Upped my fat intake. And, inevitably, protein intake.
Week four: Up net carb intake to 25g per day. Still avoiding all added sugars, like candies and cookies.
Week five: Up net carb intake to 30g per day, Trying to keep to high quality carbs with lower glycemic indexes. Still avoiding all added sugars, like candies and cookies.
++**Leave the land of white carbs and sugar!**++
Week six: Up net carb intake to 35g per day, or begin weaning myself over to Jorge Cruise's plan.
