Thought I did well until dessert raised its ugly head at dinner. Had a special dinner with old friends who all know about my sweet tooth, but do not understand diabetes. They had a fantastic lemon dessert and I was encouraged to eat 3 servings. I ate the first 2 willingly, but felt I should eat the third because my friend had made such a special effort to make it for me and I DO love it so. Then they always pass around quality chocolates. I had a tiny little molasses chip, not the cup of chips and felt very virtuous. However, when I added up carbs and calories, the lemon dessert was 1300+ calories for 3 servings. I had no idea it was so caloric and was a little angry with myself for giving in to peer pressure. It was like going out with a group of alcoholics when you're on the wagon.
