Most days around here aren’t all that exciting these days. Today wasn’t either but it was different and I liked it. I finished getting the shopping done for Christmas dinner. After that, the weather guy said we were to have our first freeze of the season tonight so had to prepare. Plant are all watered, covered, and/or pulled inside. Spent quite a while clipping the oranges off the tree. I climbed a tree for the first time in at least 28 years. I really enjoyed myself until my foot slipped. All was okay, no chance of falling but it scared me enough to remind I surely wasn’t a kid anymore and not as light on my toes. Coming back down wasn’t nearly as fun as going up. Anyway, we were able to get several 5 gallon buckets full and washed to hand out at the homeless shelter tomorrow. After that I got to help hubby fixed the serpentine belt on my SUV (I call it the truck), now it’s good to go! Been a busy day and even got in some research after dinner. It’s going to be a long busy weekend, heading to Daytona on Monday for Christmas with my parents. Then is back home for Christmas day with hubby’s side of the family….I already miss the quiet, cozy Christmases in Colorado! Take care and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Climbing trees sound exciting but then at my age it would be considered an extreme sport. Love the idea of giving the oranges to the homeless shelter.

lol Same here but still a kid at heart, I had to try. I promise that will be the last time I ever climb a tree! I am just proud I didn't end up flat on my back. As far as the oranges, the tree produces so much more than we can eat, make marmalade out of and give away. So instead of letting them rot or turn bad from a freeze, might as well give them to those at the shelter. They need it too and are usually so grateful. I love doing it!
