skwhite's Journal, 21 December 2012

Well, we got a foot of snow yesterday and it's snowing again today. Went out this morning to whack snow off of our trees and walked up to the neighbors to check on their house since they are in Puerto Rico. Great news, I can fit into my snow pants from my early twenties. =) The whacking of the trees and walking up hill in the snow was quite the workout, I was sweating. Looks like we will be out again later.

Thanks for your comments on my worrisome journal about boss problems. I love that you have snow. Is whacking off snow an important part of what you need to do to your trees? I don't get that much snow here - just wondering!? Love to you and yours during this Christmas season!

After the Lowden fire in1999 we planted some fast growing trees to help shield the little pine, fir and oak trees that were coming back. They grow fast but they don't have a deep root system so the snow weighs them down and knocks them over. It's hard work but great exercise. We had 15 inches as of last night. yay! I'm hoping for a white Christmas! Have a wonderful Christmas season with your family also!!
