HO HO HO!
It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. That Santa suit gets hot! I had forgotten that my one leg was still a little swollen; it was quite a war to get the boot covers on. The elastic was gone out of the pants waist so they were about 50 inches around. To get the coat over the pants and the belt on, without the pants falling down would have been a sight for
Americas Funniest Videos. Didn't seem all that funny at the time. Let's just say the suit is going to get a complete going-over before next time.
Anyway, the kids loved it. I had a good time, but I was glad to get out of the suit and back into my regular clothes. I don't envy the guys that wear those things all day. I know that no matter how cold it gets outside, I never get cold wearing that over to the building. Some of the parents asked me afterward, "How did you know; how did you know that this one or that one wanted one of those?" Well, because I am Santa! Heck, I haven't got the foggiest idea. I just buy what happens to appeal to me for a good price. Haha!
I get a good Christmas dinner out of the deal, and a lady always makes me a custard pie to take home afterward. Do you begin to see how difficult it is to manage my intake - especially when they leave me cookies and milk on Christmas Eve. Oh wait, I'm not in character anymore! Got carried away there. However, it is true that the Christmas holidays are a terrible time to try to lose weight. Hope all of my FS Buddies have better luck than I do, and don't hold it against me.
