Day One - I didn't suck. I did well. I didn't cave to sweets. I didn't get to work on the barn sign but we put up xmas decorations, cleaned the house, and instead of an early night I had a usual night in the barn since hubby was running late. I even got an extra workout in! Try wrestling two newborn calves in the same pen trying to convince them they like the giant bottle of milk. All I can say is they think there is an udder on me where their mom's udder is positioned... enough said.

So far day two is going well. Interesting... but well. Today in the caffeteria I happened to hear a couple women congratulating a woman on her weightloss. She replied by saying she was 5 lbs from her goal and then she was going to get reassessed for her next goal. The woman looked great. She didn't look like she had to lose another 5 lbs. A couple seconds later this woman is standing behind me in line. I order an omlete with sausage and mushrooms. She orders a low cholesteral egg with fresh spinach. And then we eyeball each other.... Then she eyeballs my food with a horrified look on her face.

I didn't say anything. I don't know this woman. I don't know how much weight she's lost. I can defend what I eat by the fact that I was 195 in June of this year. All I can say is I never want to be the woman that orders a low cholesteral egg that come from a milk carton with a couple spinach leaves. Not that eating that is bad. I just never want to be that woman. So tonight.. I'm throwing around hay bales. I'm pushing the grain cart up and down the barn floor. I'm playing with my 5 lb weight at work. My goal is to be in the best physical shape I can be in. I need to remember that. Being skinny won't help me on the farm if I don't have the muscles to do the work.

There's nothing wrong with egg white omelets with spinach and peppers. I just happen to like my fat filled sausage, cheese, and mushrooms. lol

Good for you! That sausage has protein in it, so fuel your body for all of those hay bales you'll be throwing. You are doing great! It's hard not to compare ourselves to others, but you have your goals and you'll get there with hard work just like she did. (Even without eating egg whites.)

Like your goal!! I was focused a lot on trying to get to a certain number and the last couple weeks I've been trying to get that out of my head and really look at myself (yep I stand around naked in front of a mirror, hubby thinks its weird lol) and some areas can be toned up a bit more, but for the most part I like what I see, I have muscle where there used to be none, so I am focusing more on being in shape and not a certain skinny number.

LOL, I used to think that too about not eating the egg whites... now I look at real eggs in horror, because I know what will happen to my poor, poor digestive track and bottom if I eat them!! TMI, yes, but so very sad and true!!

I used to feed the calves at a boyfriends farm, was as close as I got to milking lol! HEy I eat like that lol! But I eat the equivelent to 3-4 eggs and a ton of spinach, mushrooms and a little cheese :-). I am making those egg muffins tonight though and those I do like with sausage. As I got lower I had to comprimise, plus I don't work on a farm like some people lol.!!! Good that you got your decorations up, I made it through most of mine. Didn't do everything but the house looks nice and lots of lights. Let me know about next week!

I may change my feelings when I stop nursing but right now I'm sticking to my non egg and spinach ways. Either that or I'll have to take on more chores to even things out.

I do miss sausage, though. :( The vegan knock off just ain't the same.

That's the point silly! You are at a point with your activity level and nursing that you can do it... I'm just jealous!

Love my sausage!!! And my real eggs! If I were tossing around hay bales, wrestling calfs, pushing wagons full of grain, and all that you do I'd have that for breakfast often. I have tossed hay bales, wrestled pigs, and wrangled turkeys helping out at a friend's turkey farm so I know the work out you're get'n. And wow...it is good!!

Good breakfast choice for you - busiest FS buddy of the year! Real eggs sausage and mushrooms are perfect. I did have spinach in my real eggs this morning only because I didn't use the whole bag in my kitchen sink soup Sunday. Plus I had 2 slices of thick cut bacon on the side. Real women need real food. I do have the cartons of Kirkland egg whites in my fridge - only because last year I convinced my husband that it was the thing to do. Now I have to work on convincing him something else. Oh well in due time. Great idea to have a weight at your desk while you are reading or on the phone. I'll have to try that too. Have a great day and enjoy your fresh air at the dairy.

ditto jess' comment! Good outlook on the being strong - it's important too, not just being skinny!

Totally agree with you...real eggs and sausage. I'd rather be strong and healthy and enjoying my food instead of banishing all the delicious foods away. Lots of physical activity and food in moderation is the way to go. Keep up the great work of resisting the sweet cravings!

You are so right...about needing the muscle for farm work..I mean you need to be able to jump a fence if a bull scares the bee gees out of you..I had that happen once...Proud of you for resisting the sweet stuff..its hard to do...Keep up the good work...:O)

Here's an image - you toss her across the cafeteria like she was a bale of hay, dust off your hands and ask "got milk?"
