I just can't believe this Thanksgiving. I ate a weird breakfast - an Atkins bar and some sugar free cherry pie filling. Then I went to my mom's and I ate a FULL Thanksgiving dinner. My doctor gave me carte blanche and I took it. I didn't grossly overeat, but I had a small helping of everything, and my plate was full. I even had two pieces of pie and only one was sugar free. After that, I sat around the table for about half an hour, talking, and then I announced to my guests that I was about to go for a two mile walk in 5 minutes and they were welcome to join me. They all declined and I said "Fine, I don't mean to be a rude host, but I have to go for my blood sugar." (It's AMAZING what having diabetes does! You can insist on ALL KINDS of crap, from healthy eating to needing time to exercise.) My cousins and friends walked 3 blocks with me, and then turned back. I proceeded to walk 3 miles. I got back home, took my blood sugar 2 hours after eating, thinking it would be over 200, and it was only 141! I just couldn't believe it. I guess I was being really awesome by insisting on that 45 minute walk. I felt great. I almost felt like jogging about half way through that walk, but wasn't dressed for it. I got home, had a couple of Coke Zeroes while everyone else was drinking wine, and went home. I ate some glucose tablets instead of eating another meal - maybe not the healthiest, but I totally feel like I have had ENOUGH food today. So overall it was awesome. I didn't overeat, I got exercise, my carbs are not terrible, it was a good day!

Fabulous Day! I ate well over RDI and had tons of carbs and fats - but did not actually consume a ton of food. It was just fatteningly delicious - I kept my portions reasonable and only ate stuff that was really my favorite!
