BuffyBear's Journal, 16 November 2012

Disappointment does not begin to describe my mood. I have been waiting for my big weigh in today - so sure I'd finally dip into the 140's. And - what do I get? A weight gain!

Usually when I gain I know exactly what happened - but not this week. I am totally clueless.

Deep breath - I'll give this 3 more days. If nothing changes by Monday I'm going to have to reassess my whole program.

Thank you for joining my pity party.

Oh my! I so hear what you're saying and know how you feel. Hang in there...sometimes there simply are no answers for these fluctuations. What is your program?

Awwww Buffy don't panic - a pound fluctuation is neither here nor there and may be because of your exercising this week - are you drinking more water...this always seems to level off exercise fluctuations for me. Don't worry I am sure it will level off in the next few days :)

Ohhh Buffy- that sucks doesn't it- Just when you think you are doing everything right and that *@#%&$# scale tells you otherwise. Keep on truckin' and don't let it ruin your plan!!

Hi Buffy, I feel your pain. I have been going through the same thing for the past 3 weeks. I do everything I'm supposed to do, and nothing, no results. I too, have a spoiled rotten shiht-zu; but she's such a sweety pie I can't help but spoil her.lol. BTW she's as overweight as I am. . Don't let it get you down, keep doing what you're doing, it will get better. What else have you got to lose? just the weight.

Christina - Thanks - I appreciate that. My program is Low glycemic, low carb and low calorie. And it was working.

Tracy - You are right - I'll hold off on the panic until Monday. Don't Worry - Be Happy - right?

Newmooney - That will be my theme song for today - "Truckin" - although I am not sure that was what Jerry Garcia had in mind - LOL.

Bren - Yes, I remember you have had your ups and downs as well. But now that you are "running with the bulls" maybe you won't have that problem anymore.

Fallonpie - Nice to meet you. Sorry you've been going through this as well. But on another topic - we'll have to exchange dog pictures some time!

In answer to your question Buffy- I live about 1 mile from work and it takes about 15 minutes to get there with a perky pace.I don't walk both ways everyday but usually at least 3 times/week. I enjoy it most days :)

LOL Buffy..running with the bulls..now that would surely make you lose...:O)

Newmooney - that would be a great way to start the day - Good for you!

Bren - You see, I get visuals when I read your Journals!

Keep breathing - in a couple of days you will see a drop! You are doing so well.

Buffy, I SO understand that feeling! I think it feels even worse when you're on the verge of a new decade. "Try" to ignore the number...push it from your mind....as hard as that can be, and just focus on staying on your plan for today....then tomorrow. Keep it simple and forge ahead. Even the Phinney & Volek books talk about a FOUR-POUND range for a person's daily fluctuation in water weight! The 140's really aren't all that far away. I have every confidence you'll be there shortly.

Neptune - I like your positive thinking - thanks!

Sandy - Your are right (as usual). All I've got to do is focus and I'll get there eventually.
16 Nov 12 by member: BuffyBear
Yes, hang in there. I know I feel the same way when I don't see results on the scale, but it can easily be water, what/when you ate yesterday, etc. I love Sandy701's advice to just focus on today, then tomorrow -- one day at a time, one meal or one minute if need be. And you really don't know how to throw a party:), my pity parties are much more extensive & dramatic!

Buffy...I sooooo hear you LOUD & CLEAR! It is soooo frustrating when trying to break into a new "decade", then, for me...staying in it. Almost as if the body says...no no, Uh Uh, NO WAY...I AINT goin' there! Takes a little time & lots of patients, but you will get there, just stay the course, cause really, you aren't going to be doing anything different than you would be at your goal weight!
