Eringiffin's Journal, 13 October 2012

It's hard to believe but I weighed myself 3 times to make sure. I went on a week vacation and I actually lost weight. I didn't stick to low carb but I tried to make sure I stayed within 1500 calories a day. Also, I started taking a few new supplements that my aunt recommended. I will journal on that more later.

Today I am thankful that I had the chance to spend some quality time with my grandparents and my mom. I am thankful that I lost weight after not being near a scale for a week. I am thankful I have this weekend to get back into the swing of things at home before having to go back to work.
236.4 lb Lost so far: 78.2 lb.    Still to go: 76.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 1.2 lb a week

LOL Sometimes I have to re-check the scale too, to make sure my eyes aren't deceiving me, and once that's done, it's time to rejoice. :-) Congrats, and keep up the good work! :-)

Rejoice is a good word. I hadn't planned on staying strict with the diet today but after seeing that unexpected loss, I am back on the wagon for sure!

Erin! So glad to have you back, and I'm glad it was a good trip. I'm going to Missouri in a few weeks to visit my dad and some other relatives, it just feeds my soul to be with people who love me and who I love so much. I miss my grandparents. Get on it, I have clothes for you!

Your new way of eating must be becoming more natural. Congrats on staying on track while travelling.

@FOL, you are right. Several times when I went into a restaurant during the road trip, I thought to myself, "It's too hard to eat right while travelling. I am just going to eat what appeals to me." But I found I just couldn't bring myself to eat certain foods that I have been avoiding. They no longer seem attractive to me. For instance, at the free continental breakfast at the restaurant, there were pancakes, *raisin bread*, muffins, bagels... basically every kind of carb you can imagine. Raisin bread is usually my favorite but I had no trouble avoiding it. Instead I had a hard boiled egg and an apple and some leftover salmon from the night before that I kept in the little hotel room fridge.

Great job!! It feels good to stay on track especially when it's usually so easy to slack off the diet on vacation. I'll bet you were more active on vacation also and burned more calories. Keep up the great work.

Yay! And I see you're past the 50% mark on your journey, an important milestone :) I notice I just passed from orange to yellow, which was a nice little morale booster. Unfortunately, I think my last couple of pounds of loss have been more from being a bit depressed and simply not eating. Your way sounds a bit healthier :P

ROCK ON, my sassy friend! I knew you could stay with it while on the road! It is because you are motivated and you prepared ahead of time. It is a mindset - not a diet!
