Why, oh why did I step on the scale yesterday?!? After my deLIGHTfully unexpected 3 pound loss for Saturdays weigh in, I found myself with a SEVEN POUND gain on Sunday morning!!! I know it's technically impossible to put on that much fat overnight, and I know it's because my TOM is just around the corner, but still, 7 pounds!??! I've been drinking water to try and flush it out, and I'm down three this morning, but I shouldn't have stepped on that evil scale at all!

Diet Calendar Entry for 07 April 2008:
345 kcal Fat: 7.00g | Prot: 17.50g | Carb: 55.50g.   Breakfast: Special K Protein Meal Bar, white mocha. more...

it'll be all right! You're doing SOOO well over all:-D And if you know it's that TOM... try not to weigh yourself.. it's depressing:-D

ok, you know that's FLUKE!! Don't believe the 7 pound gain..that's either a glitch in the scale, or a temporary water gain depending on whatever you ate on Sat (high sodium foods? ), and of course, the upcoming TOM usually announced its arrival by some pre-gain...but whatver you do, don't let this temporary glitch freak out out into not doing anything! I'm trying to motivate myself as I write this...but don't even look at the scale again (didn't you tell me once that you don't do so often anymore? ) Hide it away until Saturday!!.

I know, I know...I should really stop weighing myself like 20 times a day! Easier to tell you than me! ;) But I do so to discover the patterns...and my thinking is that I"m not really taking those increased nos. seriously (but who knows, maybe at some sub-conscious level, they may still be influencing me..). Ok, promise, here's to a different strategy: Starting this minute, I won't weigh myself until the official weigh-in day on Saturday. Let's try this new thing, and see how that pans out! (A part of me is nervous in putting so much stock on that one morning, and hoping the no. truly reflects the week's activities etc. on that one morning! Ahh..so much pressure!!). Anyhow, I'm always up for a new expt..so here's one dedicated to you ;)

I had a 3 pound gain overnight, the other day due to TOM and it was gone the next day, and then some. I am like you, I can't help but look. No harm in it as long as you don't let it get you down and know it is only temporary!

I know, doing that can be frustrating, but you KNOW it will come off and you're doing fantastically so don't be too upset about it!

An overnight gain of 7 pounds is definitely NOT a true weight gain. You know that. I know that. Everyone knows that! So don't let it freak you out. Keep doing the good stuff and have faith that the scale will reward your patience and hard work. Look at the bright side - at least the gain didn't happen on weigh in day! You will have that and more gone by Saturday. You know what to do!

Aw, our daily addictions to weighing on the scales can be our own worse enemy sometimes. I'm more than certain that it's due to TOM, as my scales can suddenly go on a hike too! So don't let it deter you, you're still doing absolutely great. I don't think I've congratulated you on your 3lb loss for this week where I had a friend staying... but way to go girl... that's AWESOME! So keep up the great work and don't worry about those nasty scales, you're doing fine! ;o)

Hang in there!!! I think every up I've had coincided with that event, but usually followed by a dramatic down the following week. :D So stay the course and look forward to the scale giving you back those pounds! Then you'll feel terrific.

Don't worry about it with TOM around. It is impossible to gain that much fat overnight so it has to be water. Drink lots of it to flush out any salt that might have kept it on for you.

I say if the scale hasn't got anything good to say...don't listen to it!! ;)
