Lost another pound but my rapid weight loss has had severe consequences.

Yesterday I thought I was dying. I was feeling a little jittery the whole day but I just thought it was my body trying to adjust to the absence of carbs. I went on the treadmill and did almost 3 miles and felt fine but shortly after, my heart started pounding so rapidly and my whole body felt like jelly. I ran to lay down and just tried to relax as much as possible. It took an hour for my body to stabilise and then I immediately went to the kitchen and had a snack pudding which made me feel better.

I have been having sugar cravings for that past few days and this low carb diet doesnt allow for much sweetness. Either I had a hypoglycemic attack or my body was burning fat too fast for me to cope with. I had only consumed about 80 calories at that time and burnt 500 calories on the treadmill and this incident occurred shortly after.

I guess I will have to modify my low carb diet to be part Atkins/South Beach and part Low glycemic diet. I wonder, is the South Beach diet better for people with hypoglycemia is it as bad as Atkins? I was so hoping to lose weight quickly but shortcuts have severe consequences!!

The fact that my scale is telling me that I now have 36% body fat, down from my initial 38% body fat is the only consolation I have had after that.

152.0 lb Lost so far: 8.0 lb.    Still to go: 27.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
