I think I am at a weight loss impasse and I am getting annoyed. I work out nearly every day. I have to force myself not to go to the gym 7 days a week (seriously, who am I now??), but even on that 7th/rest day, I go walking for an hour with a friend. I just added weights to my aerobics/cardio routine. What annoys me is that the numbers on the scale are inching up, and no longer down. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but don't I have to lose fat to gain muscle?
Because I am frustrated by the lack of weight loss, I am so tempted to sleep all day so I don't eat. I know it isn't healthy, but I loved seeing the numbers go down.
Many of my clothes are looser than they were before, so I love it. But I still can't fit into my favorite jeans.
Any thoughts on what I can do to drop the fat?

One of the best things you can do for yourself (especially if you exercise) is measure yourself. When the scale isn't moving the way you want it to, you can see fat loss in inches. If you just added weights, you can see a temporary gain on the scale due to your muscles retaining water to help them heal. Any change in exercise or adding new exercise can cause this to happen. I can go for a long bike ride and be up 4 pounds the next day. The more muscle you build the more calories your body burns at rest. I know it's hard, but try to look at the big picture. It's not all about the scale. I would rather weigh 150 and be a size 4 than weigh 140 and be a size 8. The scale will move again. The scale will move again. You are doing everything right. It takes a lot of patience to get to goal. You are doing great!

Thanks, Suzi! This is what my friends are telling me too. I think I look a little slimmer, but I don't know. I'm starting with a trainer tomorrow and switching to a weight watchers style plan. We'll see how that goes.
Good luck to you as well!! :)
