WELL, THIS WEEK FLEW...

I went meat shopping for baby sis yesterday. Kroger has b/s chicken breast for 1.77 and pork loin for 1.87, so I told her I would pick some up for her. I also needed to get cat food, a new spigot for outside, fresh spices, seeds and nuts from the farmer's market, and a few other things that I missed when I ran errands on Thursday. The part for my carpet cleaner came earlier in the week, so when I got home, I had a bite of lunch, then repaired the shampooer and got busy cleaning the carpet in my bedroom. This involved moving the hope chest, the night stands, and the standing jewelry chest. Got all things moved, cleaned under, and put back. Since everything was out, I also dusted and wiped down the walls behind them. After finishing, I went out and did some work in the garden and picked 25 more tomatoes. DH sliced the banana peppers and they are in the fridge, ready to be made into S/F bread and butter pepper rings today. All in all, a fairly productive day.

Today is organizing day. I still need to get the stuff for church re-organized and put away, the spare room de-cluttered, and clean the carpet in there. This may be a more than one day job...we shall see.

In food, I have been cruising along...carbs are good, calories good, and while I am not doing any formal exercise, primal exercise abounds!! Lifting, moving, pulling, you name it, this house maintenance IS primal exercise at it's best...well, I suppose building a fence or digging a ditch would be more primal, but hey, I'm just one woman, and at this point there is no ditch to be dug and just a fence to be repaired. I am hoping that my youngest will be coming over this week to help me repair the privacy fence, as it has a post that has broken off. Of course, there is still the deck to stain, not sure if brother and his business partner are going to have time to do it after all, and if not, then it will fall to me to get it done.

So, what am I grateful for today???

1. parts for my carpet cleaner, the ability to replace them and make my shampooer like new again and clean carpets in the bedroom...next time I want carpet replaced, if I mention white, someone knock me upside the head! lol

2. tomatoes in abundance and large in size!

3. being healthy enough to take care of the chores around here that need doing.

4. the view from my bedroom door.

There is lots more, of course, but, for now, this will do!

Well, that's all the news that's fit to print from my corner...hope all is well in your's!!

TTFN!

~Stef~

Busy, busy, busy....its anazing what you get done in a day. I agree with the exercise part, I could work outside all day and find it easier than spending half an hour on a exercise machine. Love those tomatos, mine are a lot sloower but a get a few every now and then.

FOL, it has been a busy week. That deck nearly did me in! lol In the words of Madeline Kahn in Blazing Saddles..."I need some reeee...eeest!" lol The tomatoes are finally coming in, and now I am trying to figure out what to do with them all. I am researching sugar free ketchup. MMM :) Have a great rest of your weekend!

Buffy, thanks. That is Toby. He showed up here 3 years ago. He had been terribly abused and neglected, and weighed only 36 pounds. I started feeding him, and he finally let me get close enough to pet him after a couple of weeks. He has been my dog ever since...he now weighs in at a healthy 85-90 pounds. He is a lab/greyhound mix they think, but whatever he is, he loves me. Wherever I am, you can bet he isn't far off. :) Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Tracy, there have been a lot of the over one pounders this year! I suppose that since they didn't ripen early and just kept growing and growing. Now they are ripening and they are so heavy the tomato plants are falling over, cages and all. I had to add shepherds crooks to keep them upright. And thanks, I love the look of cedar...wait until it is sealed...it is really lovely then! Hope the rest of your weekend is awesome!

FOL, my middle sis just texted me the same suggestion! We did some several years ago, and it was scrumptious! Also canned spaghetti sauce and that was a big hit. So many decisions! lol

WOW Lady - that is quite a busy day! Glad your hubby as so busy and helpful. My DH is helpful, too, but sometimes needs a little prod!

Stef when I grew tomato plants last year, I used these bags that you hang on tree branches, and you plant the tomatoes coming out the bottom of the bags, so the plants hang upside down so you don't have to keep staking the tomato plants up with the weight of the tomatoes.
