Today I realized despite the fact I’m logging my meals and working out 4-5 times a week I’ve been cheating myself all along by having 1,2,3,4 glasses of wine almost everyday. I’m not an alcoholic but I guess I’ve been indulging too often and using it as an excuse to relax after work. Few years ago , I remember barely touching a bottle and lost ton of weight by watching what I ate and doing light workouts. I know I’m getting older but I don’t remember trying this hard and not losing not even a pound a week. Feeling like a failure this time around but I must commit , I hate my unhealthy weight and losing patience with myself but I’m starting all over again and I’ll do my best to stick to my plan of 1,500 calories per day and workout 4-5 times per week

glasses of alcohol will definitely ruin your diet. cut it all out and see the weight fall off with the other things you are doing. but then you already know this so go for the new change!

Unfortunately I had to give up my nightly glass (or two) to count calories. I have 3 teenage girls and some work stress, so it’s awful not to be able to unwind with a glass of wine. Now that I’ve almost met my goal, I’ll have a glass now and then but only if I haven’t over eaten during the day. The second thing is, alcohol really disrupts your sleep - even if you don’t think so - and poor sleep quality can be a factor in obesity. One more reason to cut back or eliminate for now 😟

Wine is one of my weaknesses! I've been trying for months to cut back, and I'm tempted to just quit drinking altogether. Good luck!

Strenuous workouts can work against weight loss, too.
Maybe just 1 glass of wine?
