612LNZ's Journal, 21 August 2018

2 months on Keto and very little weight loss! After an initial and rapid loss of about 10#, I have been up and down with the same five pounds for 6 weeks! I tried cutting out dairy and that didn’t make much of a difference. I do about an 18/6 IF daily. I will have measurements done again in a week. Considering carb cycling to shake things up and hopefully see some results! Feeling frustrated.
191.2 lb Lost so far: 15.2 lb.    Still to go: 21.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Good luck. Carb cycling helps be when I get in a rut.

I’m curious to see how your carb cycling goes, keep us posted! I get super frustrated too when the scale barely moves and I’m doing everything right, but I think the truth is that, (especially for small / short women with a low BMR), it just takes time. 15 pounds in two months is actually really great progress!

I know how you feel 612LNZ, I've been on Keto since May 7 and only lost 16 pounds. I think I have found the key, for me anyway. I was looking at keto as carbs being the "magic" button. But there is no magic button. No matter how you eat, it is calories in and calories out. The keto part keeps me full, satisfied and healthy. The calorie part helps me to lose weight. As long as my calories are under 1200 I lose. I stay keto for health! Good luck to you

Count your calories, those are what dictate weight loss, gain and maintance...you will see results in 2 -3 weeks 🙌🏼😏 as long as you are on a deficit

do you keep a food log somewhere?? I checked and you don't have much on here. sometimes we get off track on our diet plan and looking over your records can help guide you to where you might be off track. also weighing your foods is important. I am or was a slow loser too, I have foods that don't agree with me that slows my losses. double check your macro's on a good calculator, a lack of enough protein or fat could be part of the problem especially if you are keeping your carbs down in the 20gram range.

I'm keto, but I count calories. It's one of the macros! The main advantage is that high fat keeps the hunger pangs away.

Keto isn't for everyone, it seems to be most effective for those who are prediabetic / T2D. The keto proponents typically say you don't need to count calories, just eat to satiety. Problem is, many of us eat too fast to feel we are satiated! I count calories and watch my macros. It's also important to get enough salt and water with keto. Some people need more variety, doing up days / down days may help, where the up days are about 20% more calories with the same macros, than the down days. Others like OMAD or intermittent fasting.

I have been on FatSecret.com for 8 years and not lost much weight. Then I started logging all my food and weight everyday. Only when I did this was I able to make the changes that got me results. Good luck!

Read the Body Code Diet. Each of us has a gland that runs us more predominately then the next. This book will test you and tell you which foods and exercise are best for you as an individual!

I finally lost the weight when I joined a Training Class (semi-boot camp) & trying to keep up with the younger group!! IT WORKS- lost 20 lbs in 10 weeks & have kept it off. They introduced us to FS, yes, watch & post what you eat.

Weight loss is also dictated by hormones. Stress can increase cortisol levels which will prevent you from losing weight. I don't know if you lead a stressful life or not but reducing stress and sleeping enough can have a huge impact.

do you exercise?? I went again to see if you logged to check and see if anything was off but nothing really there. I hope you track and weigh your food, you may be way off on your estimates. you have a fitbit doing your calorie burn right, you should be at least 500 calories under your daily activity level. some days you will have more or less calories to eat. having your macro's off also can mess with things. but if you have an actual calorie deficit you should be losing weight. and yes certain foods can effect your system and slow this too. but I would look carefully at where ever you log your food and check that. and weigh if you have not been doing this. a thing I learned too is to not depend on so many non food items. I like a real food breakfast and real food for meals. balance is pretty important.
