Can anyone explain all these types of fasting to me? I’ve seen liquid fasts, dry fasts, soft dry fasts etc. I know IF is where you have a 2-8 hour eating window and consume nothing but water the other 16-22 hours. OMAD is like a 2/22 IF. All the rest confuse me. If I do a soft dry fast does that mean I can eat all I want of mushy foods like mashed potatoes? If I try the liquid fast can I have broth and such or just water? Some days after a big meal the night before I’m not hungry so I thought a fast might be appropriate. I’d have to take my vitamin gummies and prescription no matter what fast I do. Thanks! 🙃

It all gets confusing to me. When I do a fast I do a 4 hour eating window. I drink coffee (black) water and herbal tea during the 20 hour fast time. When it is time to eat, I eat keto food during the 4 hour window trying to get close to my calories.

Body fat burning start when insulin is low enough. Anytime, anything is eaten, insulin go up and put a stop to the body fat burning process. Black coffee was found to not cause an interruption. Water too. There is little research into what we can drink without interrupting the body fat burning process. Stick to water and occational black coffee myself in my daily fast. Don't know much about all the varieties out there.

you can not eat any food on a fast at all in traditional fasting routines. a dry fast is no food and no water. you can look all this up on the internet. wet fast is drinking water only. you got the short term fasts correct.

Yeah I was finding videos and blogs :/. I’ve found some definitions finally :). Have bookmarked pages to read when I have a couple hours. Thanks
