Emily Little 's Journal, 17 August 2018

Yesterday I ate a horrible lunch! Later in the day, I got a huge headache and really bad nausea, I ended up throwing up. I am glad I did it though. Now I know not to splurge when you're not even hungry. I didn't get to exercise that afternoon either bc of how bad I felt. But today I will step up my game. Is anyone doing a keto diet I'm thinking of starting it?

A large number of people on the site are doing Keto but many call it: LCHF (Low Carb High Fat).

yep a lot of us are doing it. plenty of online resources to investigate to see if it is something you are comfortable doing. It is extremely restrictive on carbs.

Yes, many people on this site are doing keto. For myself, I am doing a low calorie balanced diet as it is more sustainable over a lifetime. Even keto proponents will say that weight rebounds quickly if you stop doing it.

keto is a lifestyle change not just a diet. and yes it is sustainable over a lifetime. so many people don't have a clue about the lifestyle. and yes if you are only doing it for weight loss, if you don't stay low carb you will gain weight back. control of refined carbs is in any diet you chose. you can't lose weight and then go back to a life of eating unhealthy foods. that is why people bounce back and forth.

All diets have calorie restriction in common. Carbs with a high glycemic index are problematic for some people but are not intrinsically evil. Keto is not intrinsically evil either but I do have a problem with the lack of differentiation among fats linked to heart disease and fats that are not.

Check out "21-day ketogenic Diet Weight Loss Challenge" has enough information to get you started and great recipes. I got the kindle version, much cheaper than paperback. I like Keto. Doesn't matter which diet you're on, once you lose control you will regain the weight. As long as you keep everything in moderation, it is sustainable and a healthy lifestyle. Good luck!

not really while you all argue about it there is documented studies that show a person in ketosis does burn more calories. and the levels of glucose is more level which allows more fat burning. but no sense discussing it here as many people are stuck with their own belief's. I prefer to live and let live. being negative is not a good thing to be especially when we all struggle with our own life choices

No Keto from this side. My body/engine needs the Cals.

I get plenty of cal's I think you meant you need the carbs and yes some people do. I do better on meat and fish. I have allergic responses that set off my immune system to all those healthy foods. Everyone here is different and that is why I like to support everyone that is working toward their goals. that is what it really is all about isn't it?? being supportive of our fellow dieters??
