Did Keto yesterday, only ate meat. I'm not purposely going to a Keto diet, but wanting to do an elimination diet and started my first day with only meat, onions and butter.

Oddly enough, I'd weighed myself on Wednesday morning showing no loss. Can one day of keto be responsible for a three # loss?

I wanted to do an elimination diet because all week I've eaten a very varied diet including some shellfish, lentils, grain, bread, and one can of AW soda pop resulting in bad joint pains all through the night Thursday. I want to find the culprit!!! But I've been eating such a varied plan, but smaller portions, that I don't who what food ails me.

I don't want to lose too fast, as at my age, everything will be sagging if I do, but it's nice to see on the scale!
163.8 lb Lost so far: 15.2 lb.    Still to go: 24.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 3.0 lb a week

In a word, No. Why are you trying an elimination diet?

Because I've introduced a variety of new foods to my diet, on a frequent basis and started having joint pains during the night. I have no clue what foods are causing it. I believe joint pains can be the symptoms of inflammation in the body.

Haven’t you eaten a varied diet your whole life? I know it’s very tempting to blame food. You might also explore other options. If the pain has just begun, I, personally, would see my doctor.

I know my doctor, he'll say, 'you have osteoarthritis' and give me some pills, and that will be the end of the story. He doesn't look any further and is not open to things like 'leaky gut'. It's not that I'm tempted to blame food, I have a very strong belief that everything health wise starts and ends with food. ('let food be thy medicine'. In fact, I've noticed that on times where I've been eating healthy, the times I deviate and have white sugar, that same night my joints will hurt among other symptoms. This time I'd added canned mussels, oysters, legumes, some white bread, and rice with a bit of milk to my daily meals. I've got to sleuth around and find the culprit(s)!

Nowiunderstand. Nice quote from Hippocrates. There is skepticism about whether or not he actually said it but no matter. Apparently, he also said, “To eat when you are sick is to feed your sickness.” Leaky gut remains a controversial subject. Best of luck in your search for answers. Your attention to your health is admirable and intelligent.

Thank you for the compliment! It comes from the realization without your health, you have n.o.t.h.i.n.g! Best

one thing that may help is cross out the things you normally eat that do not effect you normally. then compare to the foods that you added this week. It takes a few days of clearing your system to be clean enough to test. sugar does not bother me, shrimp and many of the shellfish do. if you eat enough on keto you can avoid fast weight loss. also if you eat too much protein you can avoid ketosis. Just to help guide your choices to do the elimination diet. a couple decades ago when my doctor put me on it, I was limited to chicken and oatmeal. If you tolerate both then you can use that. I could not tolerate the oatmeal so I ended up eating a lot of chicken. eat your limited diet until all pain is gone and drink a lot of water to flush your system. food sensitivities,,,, everyone can have them. You can also have your doctor do blood allergy tests, things you should avoid will pop up. Mine did a limited view, nuts, seafood and limited veggies. allergy testing is more indepth, but if you have a limited range which this seems to be, bloodwork should be enough of a starting point. you don't need to discuss leaky gut with your doctor, unless they are progressive they will not accept or really take things the same way. saying you think you are allergic to certain foods works better.
