My name is Sarah I am 17 y/o and obese. I used to weight around 230. I am hoping to come down to a healthy weight before my 18th birthday. I have felt uncomfortable most of my life unable to enjoy what others do without pain and sweat. I am here to change my ways and fight my over eating. I need to count my calories.

Welcome! You've come to the right place. Make sure you log every bite you eat as well as any activity you do (washing the car counts as exercise!) Experiment and figure out what works best for you. I like keeping a steady number of calories per day so that I stay within range. Others choose different options. Once you find something that works for you, go for it! Post here so we can share your journey and offer encouragement :)

Sarah, I am SO glad you are here. I was an obese teenager (and young adult, and adult...) and now I'm almost 55. I felt like I missed a lot of my life because I was overweight and wished I had done something about it sooner. Congratulations for starting this journey! I'm down 50lbs since coming here. I'm vegan now, but keto is probably the way to go to get you where you need to go. You can find a lot of support here for that way of eating.

Hii sweetheart, youcome to the most supporting community I'm happy that you start now, so, I recommend to you to start with changewhat you eat to slowly more healthy stuff. Also, as a psychology student I have to tell ypu that if you start to loving yourself, accepting that you're on a point that you don't like but it will change so soon, so NO need to hate or sadness, you're on the right way

You can do it. Just turn healthy eating into habit . Once you get away from bread ,fatty meats, and refined sugar your taste buds adjust and the vegetables, fruits and lean meats taste so much better.
