Keto to Carnivore day 9 ZERO CARBS zero sweeteners, ZERO cheese, only beef and pork : KETO since July 1 2018 My body is clearly not burning my fat. All i can say is i'm trying to stay positive, but i'm not anymore. I tried to do an evisit with my doc yesterday and waited over 2 hours in front of my webcam till 7:30 pm my time with no connect. I canceled. I don't know if it was a problem with evisit or what.

I'm not losing and this is ridiculous. I see many of you eating the same as I am and started the same time keto and you've lost 30 pounds.

I sent a message to the office to see what happened with the evisit. I'll call today to see what i can do. This is really just depressing and every day its getting worse. Thats not how i'm suppose to be repaid for hard work. and I have NOT cheated ONCE.
185.0 lb Lost so far: 45.0 lb.    Still to go: 60.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Diet Calendar Entry for 07 August 2018:
1218 kcal Fat: 112.99g | Prot: 49.71g | Carb: 0.00g.   Dinner: Omaha Steaks Beef Ribeye Steak, Clarified Butter Ghee. Snacks/Other: Ground Pork. more...
gaining 3.5 lb a week

*Hug* I am so sorry you are going through this! I went through the same thing. I kept trying different things until I found what worked for me. Please be kind to yourself! Take Care!

Ade, there is no way fasting like you do is an option for me. We shouldn't have to do that. I just looked and am only eating 1100 calories a day on average. Thanks for the hug!

I am so sorry too. I know you have worked hard to try to get somewhere and it is so frustrating for you. do avocado's bother you?? I know you have to be careful with foods for your flare ups. they are loaded with healthy vitamins and great healthy fat. can your doctor do labs for food sensitivities?? Is that an option?? if you knew what effected you negatively it would help you a lot.

Baskington I'm only eating beef and pork. All food irritants have been eliminated and still not losing. An avocado isn't gonna get me losing weight lol. And no, food testing is not an option $$$$$$$$. I'm doing it the old fashioned way. Food is clearly not the reason I'm not losing don't you think.

Please stay strong. Everyone goes through that phase. Try to figure out what "works" for you. Fasting worked for me. I think it worked for adef too. Wishing you success!

I was reading up on autoimmune diets and they are all so contradictory so I can see why it has to make you crazy. things that are good for one plan are bad for another. but one thing I see constant is cold pressed oils like olive oil and coconut oils and avocado's. Wild salmon also is a great protein that is even on the elimination diet, I eat a ton of it, reasonably cheap in the cans and pouchs for the quality of food(wild caught only). If you can handle the fishy taste of the sockeye that one is super high in protein for a small piece. I don't like it personally but someone said to soak it in something I forgot. I pick that up in the freezer department, it is wild caught too. the fish farm salmon is not good, I avoid that like the plague. I can't have coconut oil so if you message me I can ship you one of mine to try if you want. Until my allergies settle down it will be sitting in the cabinet.

fasting is starving yourself. No one should have to starve to lose weight. But I've done it before and that's what causes people to fail and hit the carbs again. Omg, I just remembered I had a dream last night I cheated with carbs and got out of ketosis! But thank God I didn't!

You are kinda right. I am into carb-binge after a fast or a day after. As my WOE is flexible, it fits in my schedule. What worked for you in the past?

Try cutting 100 or 200 calories a day

Get your thyroid and testosterone levels checked. Ask about trying MIC and B12 injections.

@Jenjabba Your diet calendar on FS is not calculating right. I looked through this past week entries. It shows your fats % way higher than what they actually are. As an example look at July 31st. Your fat% for the day should be at 54% but it has it listed at 73%. You cannot get into full ketosis to burn strictly fat until your fat intake is 70% of your intake. So while it looks like it on here, the numbers FS is showing is incorrect on your calendar. Your protein and fat each day are very close together. Done correctly the fat will be almost double that of the protein/carbs combined. This is not your error if you are going by your diet calendar. Increase fats and the weight will come off. Use heavy cream or butter in coffee. Use olive oil for cooking. The higher protein you have been doing may be what caused your lupus flare. I cannot eat that high of protein without drinking acv to calm my kidneys or my lupus will flare as well.

You don't have to starve or fast to lose weight. I really think the issue is your fat % numbers being off. Your overall trend on weight is going down. But with lupus your body will fight against anything it perceives as abnormal and protein is a big culprit for putting it in a nosedive. Lower the protein, raise the fat. With my lupus I have found that if I keep protein around 30g I am good. You just have to find your limit.

mjgh I'm on ketosis, and deep, why do you consider 50-100 protein high? how did you calculate fats, why do you say fs is off thanks. And I fast 18 hrs a day.

most keto calculators will show you and most people unless they are body building or doing heavy resistance work to have between 40 to 55gm's of protein. the rest is fat(tiny amount carbs). I work out 6 days a week and upped my protein and I am pushing it a bit some days, I should stay in the 75 to 80 range. I am sure you have done plenty of those calculators and most are pretty well the same when it comes to the protein, much lower then I am comfortable with for me, when I showed my 6-7 day workouts I should be in the 70 minimum and I think 85 max.

You had said in a previous post you had a lupus flare. So if you are not losing and you are having flares, the protein amount you are taking in could be too high. It may not be. I am going by what you have said and my own experience with SLE. Protein is hard on the kidneys for people with lupus. I keep mine around 30g a day and even at that I drink acv in my water to help keep my kidneys from working overtime. Those of us with autoimmune disorders are not going to lose the same as everyone else. We have our own bodies fighting against us. It really is a try until you succeed with autoimmune disorders. The fast for 18hrs or omad never worked for me either. My body takes that as a sign to hold onto everything. I actually have to eat more throughout the day or fast for at least 24-48hrs to lose. I would strongly urge you to talk with your specialist as soon as possible if you continue to have flare-ups.

@Baskington I agree with that for protein amounts under normal circumstances. Like I said I am speaking from experience with SLE. Even before I started a ketogenic woe, my Rheumatologist and Nephrologist said to keep my protein low.. but then again I had kidney failure form lupus when I was young. That why I suggested for Jen to talk with her specialist. I don't want someone with an autoimmune disorder sending themselves into a flare because of a woe. It's a really gray area here and her doctor should be fully involved. jmo..

I was having a problem where I was just at a plateau so I took a day and just stayed within my RDI but ate some carbs and then did that for like 2 days after that I went back on my regular sort of diet of keto and now I'm back to losing again so I'll be with me luck and hoping you start losing again and I hope I keep losing to hope you get in touch with your doctor

Tee, I started ketob July 1 @187 I'm now at 185. Two pounds lol. I was hoping carnivore would jump start this fat adapt stall. The weight loss from earlier this year was from low calorie low fat bs diet I couldn't continue because I always felt starved and would break the Diet with a whole pizza and cake because of cravings, so I went back to Keto

If I remember correctly, you brought up insulin resistance to me, which, BTW, caused me to panic enough to look it up and thankfully conclude I could not have that problem, but maybe it is a problem for you? I hope you get things figured out soon and get results!
