I've been doing intermittent fasting by eating clean but occasional bad food plus beer lol. But I've decided to take this very serious and turning up the heat. After this log...I will be going on a 60 day veggie juice detox. This isn't a temporary thing. The 60 day detox is a way to reset your body completely and heal it's self, the result of that healing will be one of that of weight lost. After the 60 days I will return to eating solid fruits and veggies. The life style I am going to adopt is a plant based lifestyle. Starting today 8/2/18...I will weigh myself on each Monday morning. I won't clock anything or count calories. Going to operate on sheer discipline and be as natural as possible. I will couple this with taking my Mens one a days, up to a gallon of water a day, and calisthenics 3 days a week combined with only walking and burpees...see you all at the end of September!

leh'go! lol

Bravo for you! I have been plant-based for well over a year and love it. I was a vegetarian for about 36 years prior to that, so did not have much to change, just gave up the salmon & the dairy products & eggs. The recipes I use are delicious. So I think you will really like it Check out the website of High CArb Hannah. She has great recipes & has lost a lot of weight on WFPB. If you like to read, also check out the two books I just mentioned in my comment, both very inspiring about how much we people in this country eat. I got the audible versions since I can keep moving while I listen to the book. Your library may have them also, mine did not. Good luck and keep us informed. That is what the one author, Cait Flanders, did...she kept a blog so had lots of support. She still has one. I go to Weight watcher for the support, but whatever helps.. delgadalahna

How are your energy levels as a vegan?

This is only my opinion on how my body reacts to both detox and fasting. While a detox helps get rid of all the bad things, it can rid you of good as well. Be sure to monitor your blood chemistry and keep up on minerals, vitamins, etc. As for fasting, and I am only speaking for me and my experiences, I have always gained weight. I'm not sure why, but I gain 2 or 3 pounds in the days after I come off a fast. Plus I always feel run down and a bit weak. Just my to cents. I'm not try to dissuade anyone. Good luck to all.

As a Whole Foods Plant-Based vegan (and you can eat vegan without caring about health, like french fries are vegan but not nutritious) I love it.I was even able to go off cholesterol med.As a nurse I was very impressed with its effects on my labs. As for energy, Google the article in Men's Journal, "What 7 elite athletes eat..."or Marco Borges'22 Day Revolution (he is Beyoncé's personal trainer & an exercise physiologist). I know I personally have too much access to food, even plant-based,and I am a good cook! I get plenty of protein from beans, grains, tofu & plants. Studies show that intermittent fasting is good for you. I tried it & was surprised that I was not starving like I thought I would be! So I guess it is just a personal taste. Maybe I will try again! Good luck all!
