Lydia Kleyn's Journal, 05 May 2010

There is something going on with me and I don't know what it is, I feel like my body just wants to shut down, I have no energy and hardly want to do anything, my mind is always in a fog and I am just feeling so depressed. And I have gained 12 lbs, yes I have been eating a bit more, but I have NOT been pigging out that would explain a 12lb weight gain. I am usually such a happy bubbly person with lots of energy.

But I have a doctor's appointment this morning so hopefully I can get some things figured out, I am just so confused as to what could be going on in my body. Just getting frustrated.

Sorry for the big spill but that's what fatsecret is for, emptying my mind :-)

Have a good day everyone and I really hope I get this all figured out

I hope you aren't truly depressed...I hope there's an easy fix...but I worry about you. You mentioned not exercising as much yesterday...but then you don't feel like exercising. It's such a cycle. Are you depressed because you aren't exercising or are you not exercising because you're depressed? I hope you get some help from the doc. Keep us posted.

Sounds like so many different possibilities, hopefully you will find a quick answer and an easy solution! Best wishes to you.

I hate depression. I've dealt with it and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Being in a fog is a good way to describe it. And you know you want to feel better, but you just can't. I hope your dr. appt goes well. One thing I never tried but wish I would have was talking to someone about it. A medical professional I mean. I had friends and family and all that, but someone to truely help me work through my issues. I've tried to do that on my own. I'd say I've dealt with it the better part of 12 years off and on. I am 35 now. You are doing the right thing in seeing a doctor. Good luck. Let me know if you need an ear.

It's interesting that I have reduced my exercising and increased my calories now that I'm into weight maintenance mode. This last few days, I feel that my energy level is actually less and my bad joints are aching more. Yesterday, I didn't use the elliptical for the first time in 100 days since I felt pretty tired and achy after 3 hours of ice skating the day before. Today, I'm definitely back on it, but I think my body will complain a little longer than normal! Maybe you are feeling a similar "cold turkey" effect, if that is what it is. I hope you can find a way to get back on track!
