While I agree about eating way over your calories on a cheat day, I think that for those who restrict what they eat on normal days, a cheat day to eat a reasonable amount of those restricted foods can actually boost willpower and act as a renewal to keep them on their plan. I don’t think a cheat day necessarily means going over calories but rather allowing yourself something that you don’t normally eat. Just my perspective.

A cheat meal sounds more reasonable, but I would not call it cheat. “flexible diet “ you don’t regret it, you plan it and after you enjoy it you get on track

Exactly! I think a “cheat meal” is probably a better way to say it. Maybe we should even call it a “planned flex meal”.

So how do we break that cycle? I’m trying to have it so I don’t feel the need to cheat. I’m trying not to to forbid anything for that reason. It’s hard because I don’t want to eat 1 Klondike bar, I want to eat at least 3 😬😂. I don’t want two forkfuls of cheesecake. I want 2 slices. Buuuttt it’s gotten me nowhere but overweight. Sooo. But it seems to be somewhat working as I haven’t obsesses or gorged at all recently. I’ve been able to have that one Klondike and not follow with something else soon after. Time will tell. Too soon in my case to determine if this is my secret sauce to loosing 30lb and maintaining after that.

Call it what you want. But I have planned the "cheat day" which is one meal and I won't feel guilty about. I will feel in control and I will go back to my diet right after. The term is just semantics whatever you call it.

It’s a mental thing... like when moms aid don’t date that guy n we keeped dating him 😳 or when we obsesse about alcohol before the age of 21 n after 21 we don’t obsesse about alcohol anymore

We want what we can’t have, it’s that simple

There’s no bad or good food, there food that’s more calorie dense and food that’s less calorie dense.

N if we care about our body and health we will try the keep those calories in check 🧐

Yaaasss. Less obsessing. More educating.

And don’t forget, we need an open mind to admit we don’t know it all 🧐

Admit our weaknesses and facing them is the way, avoidance of food issues leads to binges and a bad relationship with food

Yes and there is no “one size” fits all. What works for you may not work for me. I envy everyone that can eat rice and pasta 😂😂😂 Alternatively I have zero issues with sodas or juices. But my coffee 🙁 Don’t touch my coffee with slash of cream 👍

Yes I understand no one size fits all, but most of us gain weight cause we are mindless eaters 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

Indeed. That’s why it’s so important to figure out the triggers and the why’s...

I totally agree Swedishblondie, we all have different ones.
