Cambridge68's Journal, 13 July 2018

I was hoping to be at 150 pounds for my 50th in a week or so but its been a not great spring and summer. I broke 2 toes 2 months ago and that has hampered exercise. Just getting back into a reg shoe and back to walking. Also had a bunch of deaths and really busy with kid stuff.

Drank too much (I mean too many additional carbs) BUT I was pretty good about keeping carbs low other ways. So I start over again. I have been on a plateau for a very long time thinking I might need to switch to another type of dieting maybe weight watchers but afraid to gain back weight.

What can I do to jump start Atkins again? I have been eating pretty low carbs and not really going down anymore. Anyone out there had the same problem?

you can hit a stall after you lose a lot of weight. If you are doing low carbs anyways, it should be easy to get into ketosis. before starting any diet, I would suggest doing a new macro calculation with an online calculator, if you are going to do low carb then use a keto one. find out your new calorie requirements, your protein level, it will give you a range for your body type and then set your carbs. the rest will be made up in fats. I like this one as it seems to be pretty middle of the road of the ones I have played with and it allows me a range for my protein level. I use the recommended middle of the range and if I find I need more, I can adjust it. I use the lowest activity level and privately I use my exercise calorie burn to get my weight loss. You may want to show a 1 pound loss a week setting. I use this site to log my food and my external exercise burn. https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ Just be prepared with your food scale and logging food to keep on track.
