fat2fit69's Journal, 25 June 2018

Started my journey about 2 weeks ago when I stepped on the scale and it read 300 lbs. I was shocked and disgusted. I had not thought about weight or working out since college. I thought that my active job was enough to keep me at my same weight. I was wrong. Between alcohol and junk food I gained weight. Now is time for a change.
290.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 50.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Welcome to the battlefield, Fat2fit69! I watched my weight climb from 149 pounds at age 19 to 285 pounds by age 40 or so. I feared that if I hit 300 I'd give up for good, but it took me another 10 years to do anything about it. You're here! That's grrrreat! I noticed your food diary for today is good calorie-wise (depending on your height, of course) but favors carbs and protein over fat. You might explore the low-carb/high fat/ketogenic way of eating ("WOE") that include moderate protein. I've found it much more satisfying. You can find info on "LCHF/keto" at DietDoctor.com and RuledMe.com.

Welcome to another warrior. There will be many who will tell you what to do, but this is your journey. Former eating habits were learned over a long period. Relearning what/when/how to eat will take patience. There's plenty of information out there to reeducate yourself. There will be screw ups along the way. Be patient as you learn what works for your system. Within a month or so you can be in a whole new routine that is effective for you. Fat2fit69 .. welcome to the club!

I did and do construction work. Always moving however gained weight due to my body realizing how much to burn and how to save it as fat. I loose more by eating less than moving, however I still maintain a good cardio routine of 20 min in the morning and 20 min at night
