PrettyHealthyMe's Journal, 24 June 2018

I received a very bad news some days ago. An important job application was rejected, the job of my dreams. I keep going, I won't give up and I do believe that I will get it, even if I will have to move to another city or another country....
Logging my diet and weight here; giving and receiving heaps of support to and from all of you here had helped me to survive the last few days. I didn't let myself slip into pitying myself. I did, of course have a painful cry when I got to know the result, but that released a lot of tension and after that I started to make plans to my next moves.
More importantly, seeing that I CAN make changes, notably with my own body, is a reassurance that I have a willpower and that I am able to achieve my goals when I put everything into the process. I love the small daily triumph when I overcome my hunger or suppress some cravings and then my clothes, the mirror and the scale reward me. And you all here at FS, with the nice support and comments help me a lot.
The bottom line is that all of us who are here are strong, beautiful people who can conquer our own weaknesses - which is one of the most difficult thing to do. If we can do that, then we can win in other areas of our lives too.
Have a very nice Sunday afternoon everyone!

It’s so painful but we move on. There’s absolutely nothing I can do here to help bar say “been there! Wept that river” but that’s no help either. It gets easier and you already know to celebrate the small NSVs. Take care and thanks for the wishes of a good afternoon ... Kane got a hat trick in the match so far, does that count? 🤗

It just wasn't right at this time, but the right time will come; I'm a huge believer in that. Sorry though, it's still heartbreaking. Well done on not giving in to your inner piglet, mine demanded olives today and got them unfortunately - he's very very persuasive . . .

Your attitude it inspiring! Like was said before, it just wasn’t the right thing yet. Hold to your dreams and goals and they will eventually become reality. Best of luck to you in everything!

Beautiful post from you and you will with your perserverance get that role. Do not be afraid to ask for feed back, if you are open to receiving constructive criticism with positivity many HR Recruiters will tell you if there were gaps or issues you can address better next time. Feel free to ask them for a call... it will help you with the next one, and show commitment and motivation. There be some little changes you can make to give you the edge over the competition next time round x Best of luck x

Plus when going to interview, make sure you don't overly subjectify. You may want that role, but what do you know about that business and what they need from you?? You seem quite set on "this particular role" and although that's not necessarily bad... you need to balance that with what qualifies me to add value to this operation, and what do I bring to the table which means I will be a success in this position?? This is especially important where the role is one you have not filled previously. Again, don't despair, a little work and extra experience, you will get there! Plus if you have not worked that role before, is there opportunity for you to shadow or intern for that position with someone you know in your network?? Showing the drive to learn about what the role commands can prove very useful if you are looking to step up?

Thank you so much for all your support, valuable comments and advice. I appreciate it, they mean a lot! Phooka, the "I have been there" actually helps, because it shows that there is always a way out of a situation and forward to a better one :-) StrangeTrout, I also tend to believe that there is something like "timing" in life. Olives are great, to cheat with healthy stuff is better than sweets ;-) Momma, your words are truly heartwarming, huge thanks for that! Bandraid, that is an amazing professional advice, many thanks for that. Yes, I contact them next week and ask for feedback. I know that is very important. And I am already set to work for the next application, and to close the gap between my qualification / professional qualities and that of the position's requirements. MrGoodnight, wonderful words from you too, million thanks!

Sorry you didn’t get the job you wanted. But I’m a strong believer that if it wasn’t meant to be, something better will come along... As others have said.. get some feedback on the interview, I frequently interview for a variety of posts and sometimes even if candidates have the correct skills, they don’t sell themselves as why they are THE candidate we are looking for..or maybe another candidate was a perfect fit? You’ve done so well in your journey to improve your health..keep going and you’ll get the success you want with your job as well. Hope you’ve had a good Sunday as well 🤗

sorry to hear that! Don't give up! I firmly believe that you can achieve anything if you try hard enough or as gaelicgal said or something better will come about! x
