Non scale victories this week. I have been working hard on the resistance weights etc. to get my arms, shoulder and upper back muscles back to where I can swim. One of the affects of the bulging discs in my neck was major pain trying to do a crawl or regular back stroke. Yesterday I was able to swim almost 2 laps using the crawl and 4 or 5 backstroke!! The rest were breast stroke or side stroke as that's what my body would let me do without lots of pain. I am getting there!! This to me is a big victory. More next time is the goal. .

Another one is that I'm seeing that some of the flab on my body is decreasing. My basic goal is to be in good shape with a fit/toned body and have more stamina. This will in turn decrease any pain from past injuries and arthritis and help breathing issues from asthma. The numbers on the scale are simply a gauge as when I have a fit body the weight will settle in at a good level. The 135 is the goal my doc gave me a number of years ago. The flab has crept back with decreased exercise over the past year.

I haven't jumped on the scale yet this am will do after a shower as usual.

I did try out my new to me ice cream maker last night and have some yummy ginger coconut ice cream. The challenge will be not to eat lots of it at one time. Ice cream is one of the few sweets that I really like. I will be making something with the bowl of egg whites left as I needed 10 egg yolks. It will be a tasty way to use some of the extra eggs from my chickens. I did eat 2 servings last night but my monthly calorie average is still @ about 1100. Next time I will decrease the sugar some as it is a bit too sweet. I average on my plan so it's all good.

Thanks..I've been pushing the upper body weight training with this dang neck. If I miss a few days workouts my neck lets me know it needs me to push some exercise. I still do the stretching exercises that the therapist had me doing. I realized yesterday I've been forgetting one so need to add that back in.
