After several consecutive days of drops, a single day without a drop does not represent a plateau. However, if you are impatient to see the scale move again, simply fast for 48 hours.

Thanks jimmie I'm just used to seeing a slight decrease daily... But to hold steady for four days is usually how it all begins! I do intermittent fasting I only eat between noon to 7 every day. Might be time to switch it up!

Hang in there, it will go down. My body likes to give me 10 day plateaus so I understand how frustrating it can be! You got this!

When I hit a plateau I was told that my body is checking to see if it needs to start conserving. My response is to fight the urge to cut calories and instead, up my calories and add a new type of activity to work different muscle groups. I don't understand the science behind it, but I trust the advice and it works for me, so I don't argue.

I should add that I do this if I've been making healthy food choices and being active, but haven't progressed

Usually you’ll wanna give it at least 2-3 weeks, (sometimes 4) to find out if it’s really a plateau or just a “false” plateau, before deciding what to do. You could still be losing weight, but other factors may make it appear otherwise. Sometimes weight loss doesn’t “show” until a while later.

@blue Def accellerated my fat loss. I have practiced IF for years. Started with IF in May. Progressed to OMAD, then alternate day, every 3 days, every 4 days, and now, for the home stretch, extended fasting. There is no doubt that fasting accellerates fat loss.

How long is your plateau? Remember sometimes in Ketosis, your body will store extra water in fat cells (probably in retaliation LOL) and then you get the Keto Whoosh effect. I had that, 10 days no movement on the scale then viola 3 lbs gone! Technically you shouldn't declare yourself in a plateau unless there has been no movement for 30 days, sounds like a lot, but your body moves at its own pace. check out this article https://mysugarfreejourney.com/keto-questions-what-is-the-whoosh-effect/

Thank you for all of the good info everyone! I shouldn't get discouraged so easily. Im just in a spot where if I don't see results it's hard to feel motivated to continue! I think I need to get more scientific with it and do some research!!!!
