So, I just started taking this 48 hrs ago. I know I can expect to see the scale go up a bit as more water is stored in my cells but is this stuff making me more sore too? I only added 5 lbs 2my bench press yesterday, I can't imagine that's why I'm sore.

Well, internet search says yes, the creatine could cause muscle soreness as a "side" effect

Thank you abbadabba. Hmm, I wonder if it's worth it to take it. Some people say it makes your body naturally produce less creatine because it's coming in supplement form. That doesn't sound good!

I actually think I'm going to return it to Whole Foods. I was doing for me, no actually better without it-- no soreness ever because I'm Keto.

@bluecoaster, Hello, I have read your recent posts and wish you well on your health and fitness. I happened across this one however and wanted to reiterate, not preach, about this product you have shown. According to your profile goals ---it looks as if your attempting to lose excess weight to hit your goal. Good 4 You !!! But unless your a bodybuilder this is not a product to be used as a weight loss supplement. This is a supplement known to enhance and grow muscle mass and size, while increasing strength. It appears contradictory to what your trying to achieve.... I am not sure if your aware of supplementation(s), or if this was suggested to you by a 'sales person' trying to make a sale. ..... Not sure of your intent or specific goals, but wanted to make sure you knew what you are ingesting..... If weight loss is desired, eating nutritionally, and making use of other supplements may be best. Suggestion would be to use a non-stimulant supplement to prevent injuring the heart. I would be more than happy to make safe suggestions which will provide benefit, while it guides you safely in the direction you look to go..... Again, these are suggestions, not creating arguments, or preaching...... If you feel more comfortable read my profile to see my prior experience as I do not want to discourage you on your journey. @abbadabba, thanks for bringing things to light..... very important. Wish you both well !!!! ;D

Hi wright2018! I am definitely lifting heavy weights to increase muscle mass. My body seems to perform MUCH better at "recomposition" by lifting heavy around 5x a week rather than a bunch of cardio and high rep weights. I get much faster changes in my physique performing core bodybuilding moves versus a stereotypical workout designed for most women. I do have overall fat loss in mind as well, but with a ketogenic diet I have been able to put on VERY visible muscle while trimming down on body fat at the same time. So, yeah, 4-5 times a week I'm at the gym doing barbell deadlifts, barbell squats, bench press, pull-ups, overhead barbell press, push-ups as well as ab work and some rotations suggested by my trainer. Moving from dumbells and kettlebell to the barbell and the rack was a game changer. No comparison in how fast I changed. So I'm trying the creatine for that, not for fat loss. As far as "weight loss" I don't know how much will actually change on the scale from here on out. I could possibly see very little movement on the scale while I continue to put on more lean mass.

@bluecoaster, Nice Work !!! I hadn't realized you were weightlifting heavy amounts based on your profile and goals I read.... Wish you well..... thanks for sharing....Just please don't become one of those women that grow a ginormous a## !!!! It looks ridiculous or redonkulous whichever you before to reference (haha).... Good luck and keep me posted on your progress.....

wright... hahaha, no I don't like the female beefcake look. I actually get smaller by lifting heavy. Defined, but smaller. I'm working with a trainer to keep learning and to lift heavy but keep my quads from getting bigger. He's young but kinda old school so I don't ask him for nutrition advice. 😂

I've not posted much at all, I thought it was very kind for someone who works out and knows products used to build muscles, to comment on that element of the product. I found there to be a fair warning and not a preaching. I believe it would be "safe" to say we are all here on some type of journey, and I hope in sharing it is not considered preaching from the choir, as it is within these posts that I have picked up a lot of information. Many people are not fit for a gym, crippled, awaiting surgeries, working slowly to reduce weight, build up cardio, yes build up ample muscle for post surgery recovery, many want to lose weight, look like a model male or female, many want to clear their heads, some are fighting grave illnesses, others may be professional body builds, we all come to this place with different diets and it is good when people share their ideas of what they know. Going Keto, I am certain if that article had not been shared, I'd be googling the product and it would be in the mail to my address. Many of these articles are encouraging, thoughtful and I do have gratitude to fall comments that are made. Blue Coaster in January my Pre Diabetes went to 13.6 (CANADIAN) whch would be 380 (US)from a slumbering 6 - 7 for years. I immediately went on the Keto Diet, and I dropped my carbs to 5% and upped my fat content, kept protein around 20, but have cut that down since. I immediately dropped from the 13.6 within a week to a month later having an AIC test which came up 5.7. I record in the AM - and I record one hour after my largest meal and one hour after that. The idea is to get your Blood Sugars to flow and not be going up/down/up/down - I entered into a program to restore metabolism - based on the Keto Diet. Weight loss was not the goal, controlling the blood sugar was, I've remained on a very strict Keto regime, realize this is for life, and discovered by moving my main meal to mid-day 2PM - I dropped my BS down further, and started to lose more weight. Also past 6PM, the lips are sealed to anything that is not water. My happy spot is between 1100 and 1200 calories more calories slow the weight loss down. My focus, sleep, everything is so much better, I am starting to exercise, build quads (LOL) and other leg muscles, and have better control over my walking, due to an accident. Your friend has chosen the right way to go, as carbs are what drives the blood sugars up, starve them eat fat instead. Few comment on this, but my years of buying the leanest of meats, chicken breasts, chicken tenderloin, beef tenderloin, are gone - the cheap meats have the fat. Please encourage her as much as you can, as it is bleak at the beginning and Keto is without doubt a mental adjustment in the brain; more than just a changing of what you are going to eat for awhile for a purpose, if you are diabetic and want to live, and avoid the evil of what diabetes brings with it, this is the way to do it. (Or so I believe) and I hope this is taken with the kindness that is meant and not preaching from the choir. Thank you - and Wright you are a good person as well, there is nothing more beautiful than a person with well defined muscles, keep up the good work.

Former body builder and one of my gripes has always been the 'too bulky' for women. It is nearly impossible for a woman not using steroids to gain the kind of muscle that professional bodybuilders have. Can you put on enough muscle to make it obvious you've got them? Sure-so do gymnasts and figure skaters. Gaining an incredible amount of muscle AND dropping an equally incredible amount of fat? Not gonna happen without the steroids. (there are a few genetic exceptions, but you'd know this quickly post puberty). Lifting, even heavy lifting, will give a woman some muscle (glorious, strong muscle) and definition. Not 'she-male'. I get so ticked watching women being told to train differently than the men, or stuck on using light weights. TRAIN! (I was sidelined by early onset arthritis; hence, the former). OK, rant over.

Hi Paleant, thank you for your post. I was unable to read it fully until now because the Fat Secret app only displays a portion of it. Thank you for the extra supportive diabetes information for my friend. She is going to love all this info. I hear you about the variety of journeys here on FS. Even within my own personal path-- I am not the same member I was when I joined Fat Secret in 2016. I was so overweight, sedentary and pre diabetic. Now I've been Keto for almost 2 years, I'm extremely active and lifting heavy weights with blood sugar issues far behind me.
I should update my bio to be responsible to others so that my questions don't imply that everything I'm ingesting/ trying/ using etc is some kind of Keto related tool.
Best wishes on your journey as well!

Hi Kahaz! I know, it's amazing how with women, lifting heavy (done naturally) just does this recomposition thing- and creates firm, strong bodies that look years younger! That said, I DO have to watch how I work my quads or else they get bulky pretty quickly----I'm not into that shape personally. So I have to tweak my lower body and compound lifts to focus more on the glutes, adductors etc. to keep that even/lean shape to my legs. Sorry to hear about the arthritis. So what do you do now for movement, do you swim or something? It must be so frustrating as well as painful.

Thanks all for a really informative post of something I knew absolutely nothing about... also, bluecoaster, if you use the iPhone app like me, if a journal entry in your feed is long, you should be able to click on that persons avatar/picture, go to their journal and read the full entry there.. I only learnt this recently 😉
Keep going, you’re doing great 👍

gaelicgal- Thank you so much for trying to help me! 😊hmm..I can't get that to work. Paleant's profile is private so it shows nothing when clicking on her avatar. Wright's isn't private but when I click it only shows his personal journal entries not comments on my entries. Am I missing something?
