Does sleeping count as calorie burning ? I know that it does burn calories but should I be putting it in and count that as a “work out” or only log actual work outs ?

I think MFS includes sleeping/resting as your whole day unless you plug in other activities. I add in "desk work" (that's 8 hours for me at work), washing dishes, housework, gardening. I think the 2 mile an hour "slow" walk is perfect for walking my dog who has to stop and water every bush.

When you put your exercise in the app it calculates how many calories you will burn during your rest and sleep. It's according to your weight and assuming you slept eight hours. It's only an educated guess of course but it's gives you that general idea.

I log my activity - the program here will adjust your resting and sleeping times based on that.

Yes, you burn 70-80 percent of your daily calories even if you are sleeping!

Sleeping counts (and the FS program considers/backs into it). Eating also burns 10-15% of what eat through digestion but FS doesn't identify it directly. Generally, the calorie burn rate has to do with an individual's metabolism. Calorie deficits (eating less than what your body burns) works in the short run but then the body adjusts our needs lower as we limit our calorie intake due to evolution. Fighting the body's natural tendency for metabolism to slow as we age can only be done through exercise, which need not be overly taxing. Walking, for example, is a great and easy exercise that gets you out of the house and you can increase your endurance over time. Consistent weight loss can be achieved through monitoring and controling the macronutrients we put in our body and consistent exercise to stimulate metabolism. Not easy, but not terribly hard either. We all know you can do it - because we've been there.

fatsecret does not add my sleep. Samsung health had been but I stopped using it when I started here. Now it h shows only workouts. I was adding it, but I am going to just let Samsung health log my sleep as it kinda knows lol

Sleeping is the first thing on the websites list of exercises, I don't see it as an option on the app, so there is a bit of a disconnect there.

If you do not have Samsung health, add time sleeping under resting.

Actually, I just added 24 hours resting, says I should burn 2280 calories.
