Oil pulling: spent ten minutes oil pulling with virgin coconut oil. I can't vouch for the other claims associated with it, but if the results at the dentist are any indication, it's the best thing that's ever happened to my gum health. It's even better than flossing.

Your journal entries are fascinating. Do those things you mentioned kill your appetite? I've never heard of oil pulling. I'm going to have to look that one up. Have a good day.

I typically had gum recession of 3-5mm, but when I'm oil pulling, it receded to 1-2mm after a few months after doing it once a week. It did wonderful things for my wife as well, who's never had the best of gum health. Besides infusing your gums with healthy oils (assuming you're pulling with healthy oils), it can be as effective as prescription strength mouthwashes at reducing your mouth bacteria levels and preventing tartar. It *does* work as an appetite suppressant now that I think on it. There's all kinds of other health claims associated with it as well, including teeth whitening, clearing up of acne and joint relief, but not that I noticed one way or the other.
